The rule is - No posting speculation about what Apple is announcing.

I don't see how that could be any clearer. To help, ARTOFWAR then offered an explanation as to why speculation might not be welcome, in his example someone might post actual knowledge of events as speculation.

Do we really have to clarify simple rules? So if ARTOFWAR had posted

- No posting speculation about what Apple is announcing.
(in the event of actual knowledge being passed of as speculation)
(in the event of personal speculation or wish lists being correct)
(no animated gifs with possible spoilers in them)

Would that make things clearer? By your interpretation of the rules you would post a JPEG because only gifs were specified as not allowed in my example.

It's really not hard. Can't we all get along?

For the last time, CBlakeston - stop it.

You are the one not getting along here and you do not have the mandate to create any rules. The admins do, and I will be happy to follow any such directives at any time, including the approach you propose, even if I don't have to be happy with it since "spoiler" has nothing to do with senseless speculation.

Happy? Now move on, please.

How is that welcome in a spoiler free thread?

No, I'm not happy. All the rules have now been broken with spoilers in the thread. All I wanted was just to spend sometime with fellow mac fans. I haven't been rude. Just asked that even if you disagree, to play along for the rest of us.

Oh my GOD man. Look, there are no official rules. The "rules" we're made by a bunch of us who have been doing this for YEARS. Ok, you're a lawyer, we get it. You argue for a living. But this isn't court. So as long as you keep on going about the rules, we're going to get on you until you get that we made this, and you play it our way, or the high way. Ok? Jeez. Be cool.

I just hate people like this (who spoil the fun for all....) its their choice for coming in here, and then they ruin the fun for all...just plain STUPID!!!!

Same here.....really really disappointed.....

I really can't believe that there is really someone who needs to post stuff in this thread. Please BAN these noodles guy. Send him to the desert (no offence to any desert dwellers).

Also, I am not a fan of rude people. To go down to the level of personal attacks is really below a decent mac fan. So, just ignore this guy, get a Mod to delete the post and ban that guy to hell.

Anyway. Germany!

This is really irritating me now:

1 - What I said was just what everyone else says when posting stupid predictions - if you thought otherwise, just rest assured that I know absolutely nothing about anything until I watch the keynote later tonight;

2 - I am playing along and didn't mention my predictions for a single time after my original post;

3 - Go check "spoiler" in any dictionary;

4 - The admins make the rules here, not you or any other user.

If after that you are STILL unhappy, go see a shrink...because nothing I posted in good faith (it must be reiterated) has ever gone against the spirit of this thread.

Can we stop now or do you still want to have the last word?

@Robogobo: Again - the "highway" is set by admins, not you. Next time, tell them to post a first post with such clear guidelines, simple as that. Being a lawyer has nothing to do with that.

Lol, couldn't agree more. Then again, he's probably 12 years old, so I forgive him.

I was just about to say how much I like these non-spoiler threads, and the people that are on the same page. So to the rest of ya, a warm hello from Copenhagen, Denmark - excited to see the keynote!

just wanna give a shout out to everyone from San Jose, CA, a warm 87 degree F....

There was a ginormous Spoiler earlier in this site, wile the conference was underway if you rote macrumors.com it redirected you to macrumorslive.com so if you didn't want to know anything about the keynote and entered to view and article BAM!! SPOILER!!! so i really don't see the point on doing this. they had to add signs earlier saying guys don't come in the site by the hours of 10 to 1 ok :rolleyes:

Why can't you just say 'sorry, my bad' and we all move on? Why must you absolutely positively be right? As mentioned, the 'rules' were made up by those of who've been doing it for years. We like a dark corner of the internet to lurk in till it's safe to come out. We're the crazy ones, the misfits. The round pegs in the square holes. We do things differently. Let this be the end of it.

This song is appropriate for you two right now.

I can only be sorry for something that is objectively wrong or which I think is wrong - so no apologies here.

In any case, let's put this behind us, OK? I understand the sensitivity in this thread and won't be posting any more senseless predictions.
