What I would like to see is a two-tiers inscription system.
Actually, there are around 5,000 attendees, selected by lottery.

I'll put 4,000 places in lottery and 1,000 in auction. I explain.
Everyone who need a ‘sure’ ticket enter the auction betting on a price+donation.
After the closing day, the first 1,000 donators get their tickets.
Maybe, the donator can select to which association donate, or Apple can put 5-10 options (UNICEF, Red Cross, etc.)
Apple can even ‘match’ the donations, as it usually does with its employees' donations.

That way, those who need a sure ticket can get it and make something to help others. Apple only will get the normal ticket price, so none will tell that they do this for extra profit,

For people who are asking why its not Steve Jobs Theater. Thats because WWDC is not just one 2 hours keynote. The keynote is just the start of the event. There is a need to accommodate thousands of Developers across multiple parallel events for 5 days. That would disrupt regular work at Apple Park and I doubt that there are multiple event venues available inside Apple Park.

Put a tent over the ring and have all the developers fight it out gladiator style inside the ring. Tim Cook could watch from his office and give thumbs up or down.

I thought they were going to start using their Steve Jobs theater for these types of events? Or is this one of the events that is just too big?

Using the theater is fine for the keynote...if you want to have maybe a quarter the paying developers be able to fit inside with the invited media. Also, where are you going to host the week of sessions to follow. Certainly not on the Apple Park campus where Apple has plenty of secret stuff laying around that they don't want any outsiders to know about.

Wonder what they are going to call the next version of MacOS? When will they branch out of California?
I guess something like High Sierra+ ... based on innovations they've came with last couple of years. The only difference I noticed with HS comparing Sierra is that fans of my MBP are running noisier much often. I'm really thinking about downgrading back to Sierra which I think is better. HS is really a big disappointment for me. AFS? Ok, nice , but 98% of users won't notice any difference. They just managed to screw the notification center by removing the dark scheme.

This is the most common sense thing to have deserved a full article. Good journalism macrumors! Way to state the obvious.

iOS/macOS/watchOS/tvOS bugfix editions, probably new iPads, maybe modular Mac Pro

Possibly a movie/TV subscription service, but that's not really a WWDC thing.

This is gonna be a boring one, but necessary.

[doublepost=1518817225][/doublepost]All my friends want to sell iPhones. Want to buy Apple? Half price? :)

Just catching up on the 2017 sessions now. #lifehappens

What's interesting is how the sessions typically lay out features for unannounced products. ie. "safe zone" for auto layout to accommodate designing around the iPX notch.

I am not hyped anymore. ios 11 and high sierra killed all the hype.
Original iPhone user until today. What killed my hype was finding out whats actually going on INSIDE Cupertino's HQ. The hypocrisy, the racism, the greed, and many other things other people don't even have an idea. Yet their marketing team is always "promoting" their beloved ""diversity"". Apple has the most powerful marketing team in the world (check facts) and they are pushing it to its limits to hide what really goes on in that place and meet their billions yearly sales. It's just disgusting.

Can post a credible source on that?

Hopefully hardware is kept to a minimum this year - maybe one or two showpieces (modular mac pro teaser?). Covering so much in one go was a bit overwhelming last year.

What on earth...

Please, I hope to see a Mac Pro by then. Come on Apple!

Most likely a sneak peak.
Reasons:
enough time for iMac Pro to fully sell through to cover the R&D and other costs to bringing the product to market.
Allows the shock of the retail or discount price points to settle into the market.
Then Ba-Dow $8K minimum starting base price for Mac Pro to be announced in Fall 2018.

At the very least:
MBA get's faded out, while MacBook gets: 2 Thunderbolt/USB-C Ports, lower price points ($1499-1799 start for MBA should NOT be $2300US for MacBook when the MBP 13" starts at that range). Also may get a sound point.
Mac Mini 2018 ... the device long forgotten, still dreamed about that gives apple MORE than $1 everytime someone asks this question for this product "when will it get updated with modern parts and design"?!

That WWDC17 banner still makes me sad Apple never announced a top-down MMORPG…

Man that is awesome sauce! LOL well done.

Odds on an iMac refresh/update at this event?

Not sure weather to buy now or hold off a few months. (Not in desperate need)
