I wonder if they will announce any apps during the announcement of Marzipan? like Final Cut Pro for iPad Pro, something they can demo for example. That would be interesting to watch.
It would be great, but a more realistic scenario is to port a simpler app (Remainders, maybe?). Or not even that: "Let's give this framework to third party developers and let THEM deal with bugs in the first 1 or 2 years, before we slowly port our own apps, just like with Swift". :D

Yeah I think it's more intended to port iOS apps to macOS, not the other way around. I don't know if I would want a universal version of Final Cut Pro anyway - I think that's one there should be a dedicated iOS app with a separate codebase for.

man that confuses me. You saying it's not worth convincing him, that he should just keep on buying? Or something else?

I also laughed at that line.
I was mostly referring to the bureaucracy that exists inside the company. When people tell me they are happy they got an interview scheduled I just smile :) Worst salaries, lack of life/work balance, and greedy directors is how I describe it. If you want to survive in SV just run away from the biggest monsters... they will suck your life out Apple being on the top list. The current size of the company and bureaucracy is what's causing their failure to provide a quality end product and support to the customer. I do not have a positive outlook for future product releases. These are my two cents.

SE 2? You mean the SE/30? It didn't have mirrored edges. I'm pretty sure we don't need another 9" screen CRT Mac desktop. But hey, a Mac mini with a slot would be a great idea!

Obviously I’m referring to how the iPhone 5 has mirrored edges then with the SE they made it with matte edges, so lame.

I wish that a bezel less iMac with the notch for the FaceTime camera comes this year!!

WWDC has been worthless for 15+ years. It's just a bunch of programmers trying to show who has the biggest nerd package. Nothing useful comes from it.

The golden opportunity is the appointments with the Apple engineers. If a developer doesn't have a perplexing problem that can't be solved any other way, it's not really worth going.

I'd also point out the networking potential with so many iOS / macOS developers being under the same roof(s), but that's subjective because it depends on one's people skills. The undercurrent of WWDC is a mega “career fair” with corporate headhunters trying to track down the best talent in the world.

You should be able to resolve those problems with Apple engineers any time. Why in the world would someone wait around until WWDC, one week a year, pay the several thousand dollars to attend, when they can get the answers they need any time without the cost or hassle?

*Should* is the operative word there. Unfortunately working directly with Apple engineers is a rare privilege and there is a rather heavy price tag on it. Arrogance personified.
