Have they ever announced new hardware at WWDC? This has always been a software thing, or at least it was for the years I've been watching. However, I do think maybe they should have a separate event for the OS and cover TVOS too. Hell, it doesn't look like TVOS is having an update this year either, which is a bummer, unless that is coming later.

Did people sleep through the bit about Universal Control?

There is simply no way to do this on Windows, for example, without a KVM switcher box. There is no software that lets you move your mouse over to another computer by simply moving the cursor to the edge of the screen and it just pops over like it. Same for the keyboard. Devs have tried and it doesn't work. There are apps that have tried and it never works right, drivers are a mess, and it never works, let alone consistently. You'd have to get a KVM box and hit a switch that moves the keyboard and mouse's cords in a switcher like fashion over to the other machine. Let alone a tablet.

Yes, more often than not.

One would think that Apple will want to roll out new MBPs before the Fall 2021 academic year for back-to-school sale
Tell me of a time when Apple rolled out NEW MacBooks for the back to school sale? They never have. It's always been free headphones or an iTunes gift card included with soon to be outdated Macs to move out old inventory.
