I don't understand why Apple doesn't just admit that iPadOS needs a windowed UI like the Mac, and stop playing footsy with it. Every major release they change the multitasking paradigm and it's really messy.

Wow, the new 10-GPU MBA is really expensive. When adding some specs like 16GB RAM ,you are getting close to the 14" M1 Pro MBP.

The M1 MBA is way cheaper for the same RAM and SSD configuration.

OMG virtual memory swap is a huge deal, many of you have no idea. This will enable all kinds of crazy apps and advanced functionality and backgrounding.

And... some of us have been using swap-based virtual memory for (looks at watch)... well, let's just say many decades. Demand-paged virtual memory is always better than actual swapping - the details will be... interesting. Starting at 1pm.

I understand, I also kinda thought they were gonna introduce a new iPad with the M2. But as soon as they talked about the M1 in it, I knew that was it.

It’s possible that they want to gain maximum moment for the current iPad Pro, getting people excited to buy one ahead of the next iPadOS. I still think they’re going to release a new M2 iPad Pro this fall.

It isn’t. It’s still 256. Apple went greedy. Really damn expensive for something that isn’t much better than an M1. I would recommend you to just get the old one.

That's what I tried first. Only found 2021.

Tried Developer app on Apple TV, it told me to wait until 10:00. But it was 10:20.

Had to use Developer app on iMac, and send to Apple TV.

There's no replay, at least as of yet, so missed the first 20 minutes...

M2 Announced, External Display Support for iPad, A Memeable Federighi Apperance (the slow mo hair shot or the opening lowering into Steve Jobs Theater shot), A secret location is accessed via Whimsical Transition (transition down the stairs to the secret black walled room to talk about processors), Apple's AR Headset was not previewed.

I can't remember any time since maybe the 4th gen iPod Touch (in the transistion to iOS 7) where they continued to sell something that wouldn't receive the update in the fall. But even then, the Touch was in the refurbished store, not brand new.

Who else is getting a midnight MacBook Air ?

Totally tempted to sell my gold MacBook.

However, I’m just ruminating here, but I wonder if it’s just better if I wait it out until the debut of the iPad with the M2. My MacBook has hardly any usage, and I’d probably find more versatility with the iPad whenever that launches.
