I’ve lost my excitement for these. It’s been a few years but it’s not the same anymore. Idk what it is. Too scripted and robot like I guess. The products just don’t do it for me. Still on iOS 15. Still have my 2015 MacBook. Series 4 AW. could be me also?

Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) starts today with the traditional keynote kicking things off at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. MacRumors is on hand for the event and we'll be sharing details and our thoughts throughout the day.

We're expecting to see a number of announcements, including Apple's long-rumored AR/VR headset with its "xrOS" operating system, some new Macs, and the usual batch of operating system updates including iOS 17, macOS 14, watchOS 10, and tvOS 17.

Apple is providing a live video stream on its website, on YouTube, and in the company's TV and Developer apps across its platforms. We will also be updating this article with live blog coverage and issuing Twitter updates through our @MacRumorsLive account as the keynote unfolds. Highlights from the event and separate news stories regarding today's announcements will go out through our @MacRumors account.

Can anyone comment on the “best” way to watch this? For example, do any platforms allow/disallow pausing or rewinding. Does one have a better resolution over the other, etc. Thanks

Go say hi to the UploadVR guys for me while you're there. I watch their podcast the VR Download every week (which they do completely in VR with their own proprietary set)

Happy WWDC23 Day everyone & thank you MacRumors for the live keynote coverage.

I’m just happy we will not be seeing this AR/VR render anymore. The real thing wil be revealed. This is the Last Time. 👀

Now that we can hopefully put this thing to bed for the future, I will say every time I've seen it, it looks like goggles you would wear while skiing. Hopefully the real thing is a little more cool.

Take your pick, on Apple TV and Developer apps, Apple.com, and YouTube. I’m watching on the TV app. I could be wrong but I think Apple will provide the best bitrate on their native apps. On the other hand, YouTube probably will get you the absolute latest live down to the millisecond via the fast forward trick (select 2x speed and it’ll take you to the latest latest).

What do I want out of WWDC:

  1. TVOS is get some love and hopefully a refresh
  2. Apple Music to have a redesign and improve the music player aspect. Bring the heart back to the player
  3. Ability to choose what Rings you want on WatchOS
  4. Give me a reason to use apps on WatchOS
  5. Security patches on IOS 17. IOS 16 was not great
  6. An Easier way to customize the lockscreen without having to redo everything
  7. I like the Lockscreen as a home device feature. That might be cool
  8. Fix Siri
Hopefuly some of these come to pass.

Ummm... I dunno. I think it's the culture here.

Where expressing deep disappointment/boredom/yawning/eye-roll/etc right before the Apple presentation is seen by others as a badge of honor and being accepted to the club.

Thing I'm most interested in seeing is how they price the 15" MBA if it exists.

I wish they would ditch the M1 Air at £1000 and replace that with the base M2 (16GB minimum instead of 8GB). The 15" Air starting at £1250-1350.

But I expect they'll keep it as is with M1 being £1,000, M2 at £1250, 15" with M2 Pro/Max starting at £1,600 or something silly like that....with 8GB/256GB base config.

The Air config I'd buy today would be a 24GB/1TB but knowing Apple they'll force me to pay for a M2 Pro if I want a larger screen! So I think a realistic price is probably about £2,400...and I won't pay that! Might as well get a MBP at that point and that will be Apple's goal.

I really want a, "One More Thing" moment from Apple. It's been a while since then.

OMG for real! I haven't been this excited for an Apple event since the announcement of the Watch back in September 2014!
I really feel like the headset is going to be the "One More Thing."

On a personal note: I'm originally from Orange County, CA but had to move to Minnesota July 2021 - July 2022. It was such a hard year, and I promised myself that I will do everything I can to be able to get back to SoCal. My motivation was to be able to watch WWDC2023 on the TV while working from home. It's WWDC2023, and I'm working from home, streaming WWDC from my TV, living the dream. It all paid off. I can feel this is going to be a special event.
