Again don't quote me, if you have more detailed info on the cycle refreshes since 1998 I'm all ears.

The AIO CRT - 1998
Lampshade - 2002
L-Bar (White) - 2004
L-Bar (Aluminum) - 2007
L-Bar (Aluminum) With Edge To Edge Glass And Slightly Less Chin - 2009

Barring fairly minor details, the exterior design's unchanged since the G5.

So they announced it for June 11-15th and if they have already announced that and it's over a month away, I'd say there's a good chance iMacs or any macs will not be coming out soon or else it would of probably been announced already.

Unless they do this every year and I look like a total idiot:

let's pray that it comes out VERY soon

WWDC is for software developers. There is no particular reason to announce new hardware at WWDC unless there is something that is so extraordinarily different that developers need to know about it.

What makes you think a redesign will probably not happen? Its a 4 year cycle and I'm pretty sure iMac is in its 4th year...

Because there have been no rumors to suggest it by this point.

If Apple were significantly redesigning the iMac, we would have likely heard something by now as they would have 1) prototypes and 2) made changes to the manufacturing process.

We can also consider the fact we have heard rumors of anti-glare glass but nothing about a new design. It would be much harder to notice a change in glass than a change in design. If people are being aware enough to notice glass, one would assume they would also notice a more substantial redesign.

Caveat: I am not ruling it out entirely, I just don't expect it. I think that if we see a "redesign" it will be as minor as the 2009 iMacs change to an all glass screen area.

don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure the iMac has gone through 4 year redesign cycles since 1998 with return of Jobs. Granted this makes it only like 3, but that does hold some water considering its been 14 years.

There was no iMac before 1998. It was first introduced in 1998 and redesigned in 2002. Then it was redesigned in 2004. The 2004 design was around until 2007. It was updated on a regular basis with bigger screens during this period, but the basic shape stayed the same. In 2007 the case was changed into aluminium, but the basic shape remained the same. In 2009 the 20" and 24" screens were changed to 21.5" and 27" as you know the iMac today. I don't see the case that it has followed any kind of pattern resembling a 4 year redesign cycle.

Maybe next year is my guess. I remember reading Samsung is working on a something like a 21" retina display but I haven't heard anything about displays larger than that. I won't rule it out completely, but I would say there is almost no chance. Here's how I see thigns:

All but confirmed:
- IB CPUs
- AMD 7700-7900 GPUs (or the Nvidia equivalents that will be announced this Saturday)

30-60% chance of happening:
- Removal of the optical drive
- Addition of small SSD as a boot drive standard
- Anti-glare glass

10% chance of happening:
- Redesign
- >27" display option

Effectively 0% chance of happening:
- Touch screen
- Desktop class GPU
- Retina Displays

I think you are spot on with most of those, but would rate the Retina chances higher in the 10-50% range. HiDPI modes have been within OS X for a while and Sharp have just started producing retina IGZO screens.

Another one to add that I would put at 60-90% is 802.11ac wifi.

It is true that it would be odd for Apple to release HiDPi graphics in Lion and not had plans to make use of them during the lifetime of the OS.

As for 802.11ac wifi, while it would be nice, I think that it makes more sense for next year since the first compatible routers are just coming out now. Apple is pretty quick to adopt new wifi standards though. We'll see!

Exactly, why include HiDPI if it isn't going to be used?

My late 2006 model iMac came with n spec wifi when Airport Extreme was practically the only n spec router available. I wouldn't be surprised to see such early adoption again. I cannot see Apple waiting another year.
