Note that once you get below 1.8GHz (say, to 1.6GHz) the 970 is fairly well-mannered in heat dissipation. Lower-clock-speed 970s could quite easily replace G4s in the current line of PBs (although this doesn't take into account the new motherboard components required for support).
I hate when people post stuff like this. Nobody knows how hot the 970's are exactly. I don't trust things on paper. If it looks good on paper, and it still makes a PB with a 970 in it too hot, then I'd rather pass until they find a way to make it cooler. But nobody knows yet, maybe with the exception of a few people at Apple.
I can't imagine a PB with too many fans.
