I have read all the rumor stories... there's nothing very revolutionary about any of them. I'm not saying Apple doesn't have something really great planned, I'm hopeful they do... but my point stands, if they don't, they're in trouble.

Well at least your sagacious comments stand here as an omen to Apple on its future. Abandon all hope, ye who heed not the warnings of isoft7.

That's nice and all. But i can really do without "iRadio". I think apple needs to tone it down a bit on all of these half-assed services and focus on what they're good at.

I think it's the other way, they need to get their services in order. Google is kicking ass in that department, Apple needs to do something to level the playing field, beef up maps, bring back iDisk (or try to partner with someone like adobe's creative cloud or dropbox), push siri to a google now like service...

or what they need is a partner in crime, and yahoo is looking like the right ally at the right time to me.

With iRadio, I would love to seem them really blow the world away with a full subscription that includes movies and tv shows not just music.

OK, the services. But what about the software?

iWork hasn't received a significant update in 4 years. And it's far more useful than Siri.

Filters would be kind of useless even if you use them, in my opinion. If you use Facebook and want your photos to that network, shooting with the Facebook app now supports filters. If you do the same with Twitter, yep, Twitter supports filters too.

So this would basically only be truly useful to me if I wanted to send one and the same photo easily to both networks. Or if I just for some reason wanted a filtered photo in my camera roll.

Finally, Instagram is the default place people go to for filtered photos. The Twitter filters never took off in my Twitter feed, and the Facebook ones never seem to have done either. I think they're looked down on. So I actually don't think this is a feature in very high demand, despite the popularity of Instagram.

Yes but it's duplicated effort. Everyone who wants to build an app around photography now needs to build their own set of filters, and I only tried Instagram once briefly, but I don't think it's got a local-only mode (could be wrong). If the camera app has these filters built-in, I hope it's something every App inherits and can extend.

I can see the argument that they're tacky, but then, would people call Photobooth tacky? It's probably one of the most popular apps on the Mac, and if the iOS version was a bit better (and on the iPhone), it'd probably be just as popular!

Designers always like "purity" in their design. Sometimes a bit of bend can make the product better, though.

Too bad I can't vote this down.

"Total Redesign"

Blah. Glitz, glimmer, bling, flash, not useful.
Well that is probably true.
What I want is two simple things that would make all the devices more useful:
This however is grossly misinformed.
1) Cross OS compatibility. All MacOS software would work on all iOS devices and all iOS software would work on Macintosh computers. I want to use my data and tools no matter where I am or what device I'm using. The computing power is there. Apple's just making the OS's get in the way.
Files should be cross platform compatible apps not so much. Actually making apps cross platform would be a step backwards.
2) Legacy support: Classic, PPC, 68K, etc. I have older data and applications I need to use. When Apple abandon's support the put up a hurdle for people upgrading their hardware and OS. This is costing Apple money because there are a lot of people not upgrading.
I'm sorry you can't get with the program, but it is past time to cry about PPC support or even worst 68K support. You do realize just how old those technologies are right? Your mistake here is having data in file formats not easily passed down from system to system and imported into new apps. Writing about supporting such old technology just makes you look like a Luddite.

The problem is if you look at every thing Apple does with a negativity filter then you will never be able to grasp the value of new features. Beyond that there is a real need for Apple to play things close to the chest when they have to deal with Samsung constantly ripping them off. That is perhaps the biggest problem Apple has right now so you won't hear about new features until WWDC if they have anything to say about it.

So really pull your head out of the dark place it is right now and relax a bit. IOS is about to get another big update, embrace what works for you and ignore the Android world.

I carry an iPhone 4/4s, still, even to this day... occasionally, as I often switch amongst several phones, regardless, and as such, I still consider myself an iPhone fan.

That said, if this is all iOS 7 has to offer... some new photo filters and a new set of icons... possibly even as radical an idea as scrollable wallpaper... then Apple is F'd.

I'm not saying there isn't a huge market still, every woman over the age of 40 I know still wants an iPhone. But everyone else I know is starting to show some serious interest in the HTC One and Galaxy S4.

What I'm getting at is, they really need to blow our minds again or theres going to be rough waters ahead.
It isn't a problem really because most of Apples customers don't have a corrupt value system like yours. Anybody that covets the efforts of a thief has issues.

Nothing exciting, magical or revolutionary about camera filters. Here's a thought Ivey - how about when you send multiple pictures - they aren't all the same name? You know - like it USED to be and made SENSE back before iOS 4 (I think)

As for everything else - yawn. Nothing new or terribly exciting. Hoping I'm wrong. Usually there's at least 1-2 nuggets in iOS that make it worthy of an update.

Ios7

Simply put, if iOS7 won't let me put my icons where I want them, they can keep it and I'll keep my JB.

I agree that they need to work on their existing services. I definitely agree on bringing back iDisk or at least changing the architecture of iCloud so that I have direct access to it. But I think that's where it should stop. I really don't have a good feeling about this whole iRadio thing. But, I guess we won't know the deal until 3 days from now...

I'm not saying they shouldn't work on software either. I totally agree with you about it. that's why I was saying if they can get a partner to cover the services and then apple tackle the software the consumer could seriously win.

Yes! Camera filters! The "auto-tune" of photography. That is exactly whats lacking, is another way to put heavy handed effects on boring images to make them somehow mass produced artistic.

I just hope the code modifications are deep in iOS 7 so jailbreakers have opportunity to have lot of exploits available to make jailbreaking simple again for them.

Exposure compensation! I hope we don't get a ton of filters while EC remains omitted.

YES! Having to tap on a bright or dark part of the screen to try to get proper exposure is so clumsy. While full manual control would be overkill for a smartphone, at least EC and the ability to control ISO would be so nice.

THIS! Overhaul iwork, iphoto, aperture.

No new rumors today. Just round-ups of yesterday's rumors. It appears that we're stuck with brand-new MBAs... no rMBPs this time, at least according to the most up-to-date rumors.

They did, they were relying on Google for the Mapping and Microsoft for the office suite, and look how it turns out. Same with Samsung, they relied on them for making stuff and well, the rest is history.

Apple doesn't want to give away controls of anything they do because it can end up biting them on the butt. They just want everything in-house.

The item regarding shifting app icons depending on device orientation is interesting given the alleged leaked image of iOS 7 that appeared to show the icons off center. Many scrutinized the image as a fake because of it.

dun. Dun. DUN...

I am sorry but if that is not fake, I don't know what it is lol :D
And a very bad photoshop work to...

Instagram is good but it crops your images! I wan't instagram filter on a full size pic!

Leave the stupid flashy cam stuff to third party apps and the competition that finds it Broadway Show Trash Style worthy to feature. Thanks.

Couple things

A few things I would like to see in no particular order:

Updated iWork apps.
Live Widgets
Vastly improved Siri, including settings and app control
Mail app improvement including file/contact attachments right from message and sort options as in OSX Mail app.
More flexibility in customization, maybe with an advanced user mode

and

I want a "one more thing" moment!

Why is everyone expecting iWork to be demo'ed or mentioned at WWDC? Has Apple ever mention it at WWDC before? I would imagine such a huge update would get its own media event or a press release at least.

As a stockholder, I do not wish Apple to utilize resources for either of your desires. They supported OS9 for nearly a decade, and apparently that wasn't long enough for you to upgrade your apps or find other solutions. Do you also need a serial port? How about SCSI? Parallel? ADB? Have you copied all your floppy disks to CD-Rom yet?

I don't think you'll be seeing Apps like Logic, Aperture, FCP X, etc. running on a mobile chip/device any time soon. Are you nuts?
