As I had already mentioned before, this title retails for the same price under Windows in Steam.

And it's a good thing beacuse it adds a triple AAA title to the Mac gaming library. How is that not a good thing?

The Mac is a powerful gaming platform. This was an innovative title six years ago, but a game such as this is outdated in six months. Think how far the pathfinding, enemy AI, etc have evolved since then?

Now take away multiplayer. I would be willing to be that there would be no A's associated with this title on the PC without multiplayer.

You see, that's what I don't get....I don't do multi-player...First because I get very dead very quickly, and secondly because I play in "Spurts" depending on what I'm doing...And they still want $55? A rip off I think.

Right, because all Mac game ports are being made specifically for you

If they're not CE games, then yes, they should be made for me given I play just about everything.

Is your profile picture Geist or am I mistaken? Good game, limited replay value; I have the OST on my computer.

Bugs me that they're charging full price on a game that's nearly given away for free on Steam. It's a fairly old game to boot.

I know Aspyer put time into porting it over but they didn't write the freak'n game.

This is good news, but ....

Like others are saying, the almost $50 price tag for it is simply too high. I mean, in all honesty? Video games are becoming more and more like movies. People only pay top dollar for brand NEW releases that relatively few people have had a chance to see. When you take a game that was released years ago (and a popular one at that!) and port it, yes - we're grateful as OS X users that it's one more thing we can play without resorting to booting into Windows first. But it's still a game with 5+ year old graphics technology in it, plus being one that a lot of gamers have already played through.

I've long been a big supporter of Aspyr, because they're one of only a few companies out there giving Mac users anything to play that runs native under OS X. (Screw these Cider ports! They're awful.)

But can't you price things at more like $25 instead of $50, and make up the profits with more sales volume? There are more Macs being sold in recent years than ever, so the audience should be growing, not shrinking.

I'm not an avid gamer so I am not into gamer politics. I recognize that the Mac platform is not a primary demographic for the newest and greatest games. This doesn't really matter to me. I generally play a game for years, if it's any good, and I won't buy it at all if it's not worth playing for many years. Consequently the price is secondary to the quality of play. So my question is whether this one performs well on the minimum hardware configuration. If anyone has downloaded this game for running on a 2.4 Ghz C2D iMac with a Radeon HD2400, I'd appreciate a report.

The fact that I've never heard of this even though it was released 5 years ago doesn't speak to the port having been worth making...

This is just a wild shot in the dark, but, do you think perhaps it has something to do with the fact that your a Mac user?

Not like OS X has ever gotten a selection of games equal to whats available on Windows...

I think that says more about your awareness of gaming culture than anything about CoH. It's one of my favorite games still and I play it regularly because it looks and sounds fantastic.

Multiple awards for graphics, sound, gameplay and best of show. It still has a large player base and technically the game is on par with any RTS out today.

So yeah, not knowing about CoH isn't something you should be bragging about.

It should be $30 at this stage however and that's including all the expansions, but if I had never played it before I would still think it was value for money at $50.

Looks like my friends back in high school are (still) right.

[This was 10+ years ago]
Friend 1: ...except you can't play games on a Mac.
Friend 2: (Defiantly) No, what are you talking about, there's games on the Mac.
Friend 1: Yea sure, if you don't mind playing games from 5 years ago.
Friend 2: (Shaking his head, reluctantly acknowledging)

I guess that all we can say to the game maker companies is: "do it like blizzard".

SkirmIsh?

I do not see why they can not put an offline skirmish on the mac app like they do with the PC version. Otherwise great.

$49.99(tax not included) for a remake of the campaign.. The difference? It runs on OSX. No thanks. Try again at $9.99.

AGREED! It's ridiculous pricing like this that drives so many to The Pirate Bay, and for good reason. I simply ain't willing to shell over 50 bucks on a game I might not like, and can't take back.

This was my favorite game of all time and I was excited by the headline. I came in here to see if people thought this would run on my Macbook Air... was ready to buy it even at $50. Then I discovered no multiplayer/skimishes. I could live without out multiplayer, but no skirmishes kills it for me. I would potentially still buy the campaign only version if it were a lot less expensive, but $50 for no skirmish is not something I'll probably go for. Too bad.

So aside from my disappointment, what is the opinion on whether this would run well on my MBA? I know it pushed PCs pretty hard years ago when i ran it on a PC.

I just checked, it's the same price on steam for PC. I'm willing to bet since this is an older game, there's not too many people on multiplayer now anyway.

You might be surprised. I'm still playing MOHAA. Ten years old, and still 600+ multiplayer servers online on any given day.

HI guys

will my config Macbook pro 13 inch with i7 8gb ram with intel HD Graphics 3000. support this game ?

Confused

I still do not get why they can not make skirmish available for it. It's a great game but does anyone recon that they will make an upgrade for offline skirmish. I hope they do.
