Are you someone's fear mongering grandmother? You'd be a great fit.

"Risking your life". Hilarious. There are probably tens of millions of Craigslist transactions that happen every day. What about the buyers? Are they risking their lives too? You are being quite presumptuous when you assume people won't take proper safety precautions.

Some people just love to be a wet blanket. Excited about making a few dollars on Craigslist? No don't do it, there are killers ready to take your money and your life!

Whatever.

Or do it inside the buyer's bank. I'm very hesitant to accept large bills from a stranger. I will accept bills directly from a bank teller though. Lots of cameras in there. Anyone who agrees to meet inside of a bank is not going to pull anything shady.

How dare I care about my safety. If you’re still stuck on selling a scam magnet times 3, be my guest.

Ebay owns Paypal.
Not anymore they dont. Double-check your facts.

And, I see lots of misinformation/speculation on eBay and Paypal's fees, so let me clear that right up, as someone who buys and sells on eBay all the time.

eBay fee is free to list, and 10% of the sale price.

PayPal fee is 2.9% plus $.30 for the transaction of the sale price.

So, if the guy who won that $1849 auction actually pays, the seller receives $1610. Minus shipping, he makes over $300 if tax was paid. And, more if it wasn't.
