Yeah, because “verified” blue checks post such great content.

In reality, all many “verified” accounts do is post meaningless and/or ChatGPT-written replies to prominent tweets desperately trying to get in on the ad revenue sharing — based on impressions to other “verified” users — or they post low-value engagement bait to get on the “for you” tab that all users are now frequently forced back to and heavily prioritizes random “verified” users.
This. You wouldn’t believe how much tweets from Japanese news outlets are now being spammed from verified accounts in Nigeria trying to boost their impression counts. Wasn’t a problem before Elon came along.

Didn't many people say X would be dead by now? Maybe perhaps, Elon knows what he's doing.

Can't wait for the "surely they're going to die from this new thing" comments. One more year should do it! 😂
Him and his team knows what their doing from a business and programming sense, after all X is a SaaS business just like any other social media service app ans content.

Personally I think he's acutely focused on giving a largee voice and presence to a particular Arc of the swing so speak vs the entire pendulum. Men, he still knows what he's doing.

That said this marketing garbage is a per insult to basic intelligence...

This new program aims to defend against bots and spammers who attempt to manipulate the platform and disrupt the experience of other X users. We look forward to sharing more about the results soon.

I .Ean how does valid users paying anything stop from Bots doing anything or existing??!! It doesn't this is just. Acash swindle and another icon on users forehead (like kindergarten stickers lol)

He's admitting defeat of stopping all bots. Having an AI with human follow-up would kill bots.

So you guys actually think this is about "bots" and not about Elon trying to make Twitter somewhat financially viable with the enormous amount he overpaid?

I fully expect this test to be a failure, only for it to be spun as a success by Elon and be brought to every country immediately

Honestly that’s it for me, it will suck having to convince my 30k followers to follow me elsewhere but I just can’t bear the thought of giving that man even a single dollar a year

Also the spam bot operators and jumping in joy at the idea of only needing 1 dollar a year
If even one person falls for one of the crypto scams they push they’re basically paying the bill to operate for 8 millennia

This is about Elon trying to recoup the massive loss he took buying twitter on a whim to boost his ego and nothing more, I wish he’d be honest about it

Does he not think people will pay a dollar for their bots to rake in more than that? lol. This is just another desperate attempt to make some of the billions back he lost by buying this POS.

Too cheap to prevent bots. Moreover, NZ and Philippines bots will just use a VPN now...
I don’t think the goal is to prevent bots, it’s to profit from them. If a bots master creates 100,000 new bots for one reason or another, they’ll fork over the 100,000 money units. If those bots are effective, the next time the bots master may purchase a million. And, again, 1 million money units.

Advertisers don’t appear to be returning, the only money left is in charging the bots that are still coming while there’s millions of eyes still looking.

I encourage you to get a Neuralink chip and hop on board one of his rockets

If I was paralyzed, had Parkinson’s, etc I’d be first to line up for that chip tech

I also put my name on that mars colony list years back
His progress with rocket and space tech is remarkably better than that of .gov

There are things worse than death, living in fear is one

Elon knows what he’s doing… in terms of sabotaging the site, that is.

Lets remember that Elon tried to back out from buying Twitter before being forced to go through with it. Any decisions he makes that makes the site worse is 100% deliberate.

Yes, Musk tried to back out but why would be want to deliberately run the company in the ground through his own post-purchase business decisions, intentionally want to be part of such a high profile business failure, jeopardize billions of dollars of Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Barclays, etc. money, and so on?

If you think the only options are "Elon knows what he's doing" or the death of X, I can't help you.

A lot of people have the "Elon is a billionaire, so he must be a genius" narrative. Unfortunately, Elon might too. It could be as simple as he's not smart enoguh to handle the power he's gained from being the richest guy in the world.

Well…

The platform is almost bankrupt as it’s full of unfixed bugs. E.g. links to tweets haven’t worked in months.

The brand has been destroyed as a result of the most idiotic childish renaming ever.

And content wise it’s already dead as it has become a cesspool of hate, bigotry and fake news.

But otherwise, admittedly, it’s doing just fine.
almost bankrupt, so one more year right

problem is the human follow-up. there are billions of tweets that would need human follow-up. not scalable.

bots sound easy to defeat but when you actually start working on it, it's difficult.

That’s a very good question, but it depends on if we assume he’s legitimately trying and is simply incompetent, in which case he shouldn’t be in that position of power. Or if we assume he is doing it on purpose out of spite or malice, if not from just being an emotionally-unstable egomaniac who can’t control himself and makes terrible decisions on a whim. Or several of those factors, really.
