Never had a PC gaming machine, never will but wondered for the fans of PC gaming dont you miss sitting on the couch and just relaxing while you game?

I prefer playing games in my computer chair sat back with a controller. It's how I play the bulk of my PC games and all console games. At this stage my iMac is just a console (5.1, 27" display with a HDMI link to my 55" TV should I want a bigger - but lower res - screen).

Both are the same to me. XB1 with the Kinect is my TV hub and I love it. Cross platform games like 2K15 and GTA5 automatically go on the PS4 though. Don't regret either purchase - just waiting for the libraries to grow.

I'm also in the camp who thinks the Wii U is the best console out right now

Yep I'm enjoying both equally and my Wii U for Nintendo first party titles is awesome.

They're both crap. I've owned a PS4 for a year now, and after finishing MGS: GZ, there hasn't been a single other game that has interested me. I think that's the way it will remain until The Phantom Pain is released, I'm not into shooters, GTA or Assassin's Creed, so there's very little remaining, other than indie titles.

You have a slim taste in games. There's alot of games out right now that's keeping me busy with 3 consoles. Right now I'm playing Transistor and Dragon Age (just finished up Shadow of Mordor and Alien) on the PS4. I'm also playing Far Cry 4 and Sunset Overdrive on the XboxOne. You can't say it's crap because your taste in games is slim. I just don't understand where people get that from or not counting 3rd party....because it's 3rd party...it's still a game though.

I'm enjoying all of my consoles especially my PS4 because the controller is so comfortable.

Bless

I don't really, just my taste isn't being catered to at all on the current gen consoles. 10-20 years ago there were an absolute stack of excellent platformers and adventure games (both 2D and 3D) with inventive, fun mechanics, now you'd be hard pressed just to find a adventure game or platformer like those of old, let alone one with any ingenuity or imagination. Same with JRPGs, there were a stack on the SNES, PS1, PS2 and even the PS3, now there's basically none.

All modern games feel so stale and safe, no one with a huge budget wants to take a risk, so we just keep getting shooter after boring shooter, or rehashed sports games.

I hear that...hopefully we get a good platformer soon although I heard Knack was decent but Nintendo is king at this genre. I usually stay away from annual releases like AC and COD etc...I'm more of a survival horror type player. It's still early in these console life so hopefully we see a broader game selection.

I'd recommend Shadow of Mordor and Transistor to you because they are excellent.

I totally agree with you. I for one am tired of the FPS crap from shooters to GTA going to it or anything else FPS. I bought a Wii U to bring back that pure feeling of fun that used to happen in video games.

Sure there are amazing leaps in the video game world but so much of it is just the same crap over and over again.

I absolutely agree. There is very little variation in core gameplay in games these days. Frankly since the first-gen Nintendo/Sony console gameplay itself has changed very little, evolving at the beginning of the prior generation then becoming stagnant for almost a decade.

Tim Schafer just announced that hd remasters of Grim Fandango and Day Of The Tentacle (!!) as well as both episodes of Broken Age are coming to PS4 next year.

The remaster of Grim Fandango looks perfectly good and it's welcome to see the game rendered in real-time but there's still room for improvement in the animation department.

Although Tim Schafer has a fantastic creative energy, and my most-wanted game is Psychonauts 2. Would gladly Kickstart that :(.

Well Sony just messed up. They announced that on the 6th you can pre order the 20th Anniversary Edition PS4 and since it's the same price as the normal console, I decided to get that one instead of the glacier white. Sony made us wait 5 hours until they announced the stupid link to buy it. I put one in cart and then on checkout, their servers crashed. Yeah apparently Sony uses ancient servers. And now ebay is full of "a" holes selling their pre ordered PS4. They want to make 1000-2000$ on a console that costs 500$.

They just screw up all the time.

I haven't played the PS4 but I love my Xbox One. I've had it since around June and have had zero issues. It's whisper quiet and after getting used to the interface I actually really like it. It's not as amazing as the original blade system was on the 360 but it makes sense to me now.

The controller has quickly become my favorite of all time. And the Kinect works great. A nice upgrade from the Xbox 360 kinect.

Between the free Xbox Live Games with Gold games each month and what I've been buying I am WAY behind on games now.

as i'll be purchasing ps4 very soon, can you advise if codaw and or destiny are decent games (for an old timer 40's ha)

No idea. I don't play those sort of games. But I will tell you that Diablo III is a blast, and I've played more D3 on the PS4 then I have all other games combined, and then some... ;)

I've never played a Diablo game but I'm interested in picking up D3 for the PS4. How would it be for a newcomer to just jump right in? I'm not so interested in the story, rather the gameplay and if there's a co-op mode.

Yeah I picked it up on xB1 and I'm not a historic player of these games but can concur it's very addictive and you can forget the story really it's all about the button mashing spectacle , hordes of monsters, and lots lots lots of loot...

It's like a grittier uglier version of Skylanders without the toys :D :D

After 10 years with Xbox consoles mostly playing Halo, and dabbling on my friends Playstation consoles playing Tekken, Uncharted, Last of Us, etc. I gotta say...both these consoles are awful and most games on console and in general are rushed and hyped to make first days sales while being half finished.

Ill be switching to PC and playing Blizzard/Riot games only soon I think. Both those devs seem to care immensely about their games more than many companies, and they both support Mac versions...and I support that:)

interesting
the general consensus is that most developers are neglecting pc in favour of consoles.

Looks like Diablo is popular around here so I'll play devil's advocate. I think D3 is a boring button masher, although I've only played the PC version. Quite frankly, I hate the game. I also hated the controls since it's so much constant clicking. I wasn't sure what was going to break first, my mouse button or my index finger. I'd imagine that playing it with a controller would be a much better experience.

Ironically, I really like Hyrule Warriors even though that's also somewhat of a button masher so what do I know.
