As for Bing Rewards, I use it too. I usually end up earning a $5 Amazon gift card every 1.5 months.
I just looked and didnt see an option anywhere to change my search engine to Bing to earn. Probably looking in the wrong spot.

Look under Safari on Mac and iOS devices. There will be a section for default search engine. Make sure you are signed into your Microsoft account and search. You’ll earn points.
I even do their quizzes. They are fun.
To redeem, go to the redeem tab. One year of Live is 29,000 points. They often have “hot deals” where you can redeem for less. I had enough points last year to get Live and Game Pass for a year (they discontinued a year long pass. Still have 3-month one)
At this point, I have Live through 2019 and already 20,000 points banked toward the next one.
I’m an average user. Don’t obsess about it and just use it everyday to search. The points add up quickly.
Thats amazingly helpful, thank you!!
Also with the PS4, I’ve noticed if you have it connected on Ethernet and sleeping it will automatically update itself, I’ve yet to see the Xbox do that.
Both my Xboxes update themseves and games automatically. It’s actually one of the things I like about them better than PS4.
I can also remotely turn on the Xbox and install content, so it’s ready to go after work. I know PS4 cannot do this...
Both are good and as you said, personal preference.

You can do both of those things with PS4, too. https://gadgets.ndtv.com/games/features/how-to-let-your-ps4-download-games-when-youre-away-729173
No problem. I think part of the issue is that Sony doesn’t enable it by default. Like apolloa mentioned, I also have seen better results with the PS4, especially when it comes to the reliability of the PS4’s sleep mode. When I had an Xbox, it failed on occasion, and it also caused me problems with disc read errors. It was bad enough that I thought it was my console and used tech support (rare for me), but MS told me that I just shouldn’t use sleep mode! That did fix it, but it came at a great cost. This must be relatively new. I stand corrected. Sony keeps messing me up. Last time it was external drive support. Now this... LOL
Thanks for the info.
I have decided to grab a PS4 Slim to play the exclusives on Sony and then upgrade to an X1 X for my main console. Just waiting for the right deal to come along as the X1X has had a lot of deals come along recently.
Just an FYI, I had a slim and it gets *super hot* - especially underneath and heats up the area it is sitting on. You should use it in the vertical position (I had to put it on top of a stereo receiver that never got really hot but had vents all over the top and sides).
I had the OG PS4 and it never got as hot and neither does the PS4 Pro as it is a larger unit with more surface area and larger fan.
Sony tried cramming all the PS4 circuits into a really thin package...

The Pro is a (comparatively) minor upgrade and it's pretty noisy. I don't think it was their finest hour where as the PS4 Slim is.
Yeah, it can be noisy at times, but I usually play with headphones on, so I never really notice. The less demanding games don't ramp up the fan. Is the One X pretty quiet all the time? I kinda wondered how good the cooling was going to be considering they shrunk the chassis down from the One S while also adding a lot more processing power.
Xbox One X and PS4 Slim.

Having said that if you can pick one up in the sales for £270 instead you probably should.
I see rumours have started about the PS5 now lol. I can’t see it being out till 2020 though but you never know?
It makes sense since One X has set the new bar, and PS4 sales are finally starting to slow down. Rumors are thin, but I suspect Ryzen+Vega. Something HBM would be awesome, but that might be a little too expensive. Hopefully some formal SSD support, even if it still ships with spinning storage. Maybe a hybrid setup?
SlickDeals alert..PS4 Pro and Cartwheel $320!!!
Add another 5% with red card, a gift card burning a hole in my wallet since christmas and a $10 for all the diapers and crap we buy their routinely.....walked out the door with a PS4 Pro for $250+tax.
Patience has paid off!!! Now to stumble upon an X deal hopefully soon.
