I'm pretty negative on this. I keep thinking about people not needing them getting one, perhaps planning on returning it, or are just confused LOL. It's just so expensive. Really puts the kibosh on it.

It’s going to be a tough sell at $3,000 per unit if it’s a well received product.

Question: Why are so many people clinging to the $3,000 price - a mere rumor that's been beaten to death?

Answer: My theory is it provides people an easy opportunity, a cudgel of sorts, to declare it a flop. Which is always a crowd-pleaser.

I believe it’s an educated guess generated from the cost of specific parts, and other high-end units already available on the market.

Myopia. You can expect myopia. On the plus side, at least you won't be able to see how ridiculous people look wearing ski googles and making random pinching movements in the air.

Even though we are less than 7 days away from potentially seeing what this thing is, I just don't feel excited as I was for the iPhone and iPad. Those two were the height of excitement for me leading up to the reveal. Also, OS X on Intel was really exciting back in 2005.
So… you're not excited to see Craig either? 🤦🏻‍♀️

I am sure it will be amazing, especially doing the virtual meditation in a fairy virtual woodlands. But gaming? Let’s not kid ourselves, this is apple and there will be no real games except for the few announced at the WWDC. The rest will be Apple Arcade type and no one will spend hard earned money to play them. But let’s wait and see.

The first game on it should be Solitaire. 😂

Exploring cities around the world...how about Vice City in GTA V

I "can't wait" to see the goggles. I know Apple "can't wait" to show us the goggles. It will be epic.
If it were more accessible price-wise, I would say this would take an outdoor activity like laser tag to the next level.

This article will be so irrelevant if Apple DOESN'T announce the headset next week....
Almost guaranteed they announce it next week.
Apple invited representatives of what I would consider the top three VR news/reviews sites to the event. UploadVR, RoadtoVR, and Tested (Norman Chan).
These are people/organizations who have never been invited to an Apple event, and haven't covered Apple products.
I'm pretty sure Apple didn't just invite them to cover an update to ARKit for the iPhone and iPad.

Airpods was ridiculous. Apple Watch was ridiculous. Then we saw what happened next. ;)

My prediction: 2025 it will be perfectly normal to see people wearing ski googles and making random pinching movements in the air on the bus, train, ferry, park, cafe, even street. Not only you can see Apple 'google', but there would be Samsung google, Google google (Googoo), and perhaps one from Huawei?

Yeah, gestures won't be any stranger than people "talking to themselves" by talking to a bluetooth earpiece. And I think the gestures required could be quite a bit simpler than what movies depict when characters interact with hologram interfaces.
With eye tracking, you could do most of the pointing with your eyes, and just hold your hand in your lap and tap your forefinger and thumb together to click something.

I would prefer a less featured set that was more about watching home media files and streaming movies. At 4k, it should hopefully be a great experience if the audio can be figured out properly.

There are some optimistic people here.

It's going to be approaching $3000, perhaps a little less, Certainly not a dime more. Could even be $2500,

$2500 might be a number for consumers to actually consider.

An educated guess generated from the cost of specific parts without taking into account that Apple negotiates discounts for buying in bulk.

And especially for commercial AR applications. It'll do extremely well in that space.

Heck, with respect to AR, I'd purchase it so I could surgically remove my own appendix.

$2,499 to be exact. and then they can just market it as 4 easy payments of $624/month lol.

I hope it doesn’t go on sale until Q4 so that we have time to save haha.

If Apple have somehow made a portable version of the PSVR2 then more power to then but I'm still expecting nothing more than a studio display you strap to your face with an infinite desktop.
