I was actually thinking something along those lines. I feel a little bad about taking it for nothing. I have a few little trinket he might have interest in.

The Classic II is also probably my least beloved Mac of my collection. Seeing as it's not 100% working (takes 20 minutes to boot), it may do well as a display model in such a museum.

Heck, at leist yours boots. Mine's HDD died and my T15 isn't long enough. Another project for another day I guess.

Oh, I asked about the G5 and the monitors.

He gave it to a lucky lucky nephew.

A very lucky nephew. 🙂

Were I him, I probably would have kept the dual 30s for the Mac Pro.

IMO, the 30" is one of the best displays Apple has ever made. The new LED TB displays(as well as the the older 27" Cinema Display and the current iMac, all of which, AFAIK, use the same panel) look a lot more "vibrant" on first glance than the older Cinema displays. When it gets down to it, though, I find the matte screen on the 30"(and the others of that generation) much more pleasant to use.

Ken Rockwell, who is a pretty prominent and (in)famous photography blogger, bought a Quad and a 30" after the Intel transition had been announced, and then bought a second 30" after Apple discontinued them. Following his blog, the dual 30s migrated with him to a Mac Pro tower, and then most recently to a 2013 Mac Pro.

I'd love to see Apple bring back an updated version of the 30" with Thunderbolt, LED backlighting, and a matte screen, but I realize that's probably just wishful thinking.

I scored my Dual 1GHz this summer that had the original sticker still on the SuperDrive! Bought it from a kid for $25 yet he had no clue what he was selling. 2x80GB HDD from the factory, AirPort, SCSI card, among a few other things then there is the fact that is the dual 1GHz, rarest of the models!

Gavin, you are making me jealous! My Quicksilver never came with any of that stuff! 😡

I remember when I found my Quicksilver, it was sitting on a street curb near my neighborhood when my father was driving past it. I snapped my head around to see that it was actually a PowerMac, and I asked my dad to stop (we were on our way to a movie, heh) and I threw it in the trunk. It wasn't until I got home later that night that I found out what model it was, and that it did not have RAM or a Hard Drive (maybe the owner thought RAM contained private data, IDK). Over the next several months, I upgraded everything in that machine and it's now the prize of my PPC collection. I even have the original monitor, keyboard, and mouse to go with it!

Congrats on your find OP, I hope that machine provides you much enjoyment!
