My iPhone 7+ is legit out of the box. I don't hear any hissing. How do u get the hissing and what's the nature of it? My screen is "warmer" than my 6s+ when I put it side by side. But in certain angles the colors are crisper so u win some u lose some. I think it boils down to preference, do I wish it's cooler color like the 6s+, yes. Is there some thing wron with this series with a warmer tone? No. I'd rather stick with this one than be anal retentive and get something else with worse problem.

Last year some people claimed it was impossible to have a phone without a discomfited screen. This year some people are claiming there is some new hissing defect that you can hear from a table next to you.
I had/have neither and was called a liar.

Careful. You'll be called a liar.

One of the wonders of the internet is if you have a problem with a product, you can google it and odds are find someone else somewhere who has had a similar problem. People are quick to post about concerns and issues but you do not have the same influx of people posting that they have no problems.

While I was waiting on my iPhone to arrive I was reading about yellow screens and hissing. By time my device arrived I was expecting to open the box and have a large yellow snake jump out.

Well I didn't have a snake jump at me, In fact my iPhone 7+ is working wonderfully.

Now, in all fairness, I did not hold it to my ear listening for a hiss nor do any extensive testing. Aside from some extra attention to the screen I did not go looking for problems. I have used my device as intended and experienced no concerns. I have no doubt the problems exist and Im sure some people have defective phones, but remember if you go "looking" for problems you will likely find what you are looking for.

What is the purpose of this post? If you scroll through threads its Issue - issue - Yellow - Hissing - Returned phone. Well my phone is just fine, if it is hissing I can not hear it during normal use, my screen is not yellow and it functions just fine. Order your phone and be happy

Exact.

I will use my new phone 7 as i have been using the previous models.
I will not go on a hunt for hisses and their coisins! If during my NORMAL use i find any problem then, i will use it's warrany.

Well my 6s wasn't perfect either. The screen crapped on me after 3 months so I got a replacement from apple.

Lol oh don't worry I've been around the block. I know how to deal. Haha

Because humans and our manufacturing processes are not perfect, every single product that has ever been mass produced will have flawed units. But what people sometimes forget is that iPhones ship by the tens of millions! So for every one person who is complaining about their device being defective, there are thousands who are perfectly happy. It creates a screwed perspective because most people who aren't having problems don't take the time to go online just to tell the world that everything is fine, so if you go online, it seems like everyone has a problem with their device even if it's less than 1% of all users. It's pretty much been this way for any major launch of anything for as long as the Internet has been around.

And yes, then there are the "hypochondriacs" who will make it a point to find something wrong because like I said, manufacturing processes aren't perfect, so if you look hard enough, you can find some kind of flaw in just about any unit.

Away with you and your confounded common sense!

It's funny, I stumbled on this by accident...

I was curious how much space a 1 minute 4k video took up. So I checked my storage and then did a 1 minute 4k video of my dumb cat. I was playing a back going, where's that hissing come from? It sounds like static line noise from old speakers I use to have. Then I realize it's in the video! I then grabbed my 6s Plus and did a similar shot and it's dead quiet. Couldn't believe it. Did another test on the iPhone 7 Plus and there it is again. Came here to check and sure enough, it's not my imagination. I must say, it's quite prevalent in the video.

This forum has the weirdest bunch of people on it. I come back every iPhone launch, it's fascinating. It should be renamed OCDRumours or something. Grown adults taking photos of "yellow" screens and comparing them saying they are defective, comparing serial numbers and talking about glue. People retuning jet black models because the have tiny scratches on them. It's JUST a phone lol. It's a tool, not a piece of jewellery. If it's so precious to you then probably can't really afford so get a cheaper phone that doesn't drive you bonkers. All that time spent talking about yellow screens could be used for self improvement so you can then get a better job, buy 20 iPhones and trash one each time it's gets a hairline scratch on it.
I envy your simple view of life.

Okay so I just received my 7+ today. I've been playing with it for about 4 hours or so. So far I love it! The camera looks great! I can't tell anything different with the screen. No cracking, bending, popping sounds. I do have a slight "hiss", but it's only noticeable if I hold the back side phone up to me ear, which lets be honest no body does that with normal use.

I was a little skeptical about the solid home button, but already I've gotten used to it. I'm coming from a iPhone 6 so 3D Touch is a great feature that I've enjoyed. I've also noticed that the Taptic Engine gives my phone a stronger more noticeable vibration.

Overall satisfied, I understand that there are people who will get defective phones and those people certainly should get a replacement. What boggles my mind is people who are so not picky about things that the average user won't notice in normal day to day use.

Enjoy!
I'm jealous. But please try twisting the phone ever so slightly and tell me you can't hear any clicking or creaking. Because if so your phone truly is perfect.

Since the 10.2 update my phone (6+) has had a slightly yellow cast where the screen has been expected to be white.

So not hardware, evidently.

I think I lucked out. Just received my 7+ from Verizon yesterday. The display looks the same as my 6+ in terms of color temp, I have no "coil whine", no glue and no clicking. Maybe they were making corrections in the manufacturing, and that's why it took awhile to get the batches to Verizon. Just guessing.

Oh, and my Fossil Q Founder syncs up with my 7+ perfectly (was a known issue with some Android Wear watches).
