are these Samsung, LG or mix?
In my opinion G9P stands for Samsung

Found this:
Prefix G9N: Samsung Good Grade panel (Very low chance of being a bad panel).
Prefix G9P: Samsung Poor Grade Panel (Moderate chance of being a bad panel).
Prefix GVC: LG Good Grade Panel (Moderate chance of being a bad panel).
Prefix GH: LG Poor Grade Panel (High chance of being a bad panel).

Returned my G0. Might have been slightly whiter but had raised blacks so still faulty panel.
My husband’s phone start with G0P also and was a bit whiter than mine F2L, but his one is the one with raised black and mine doesn’t. Also when AB was turned on on both phone, his one never turned all the way down in the complete dark room when mine did.

Guys do not be fooled by the correction of the picture taken from another phone. My unit is decent but here (taken with an xs) it looks gorgeous. In RL it looks totally different.

I just realized something but ah, what does the factory have to do with the panel quality? The factory simply assembles and maybe calibrates the displays. Unless we could say G0 for instance only uses Samsung panels, then it really shouldn’t make a difference. From what I can tell, there’s good Samsung panels and bad ones, so that goes out the window. As such, I don’t think the factory has a damn thing to do with the display quality. They may have received a single display shipment that happened to be good/bad, but could obviously change with the new batch they get. Now, maybe one factory is calibrating the displays differently than another, but I find that highly unlikely. But if it is, maybe this can be fixed with a software update, but I feel like if they haven’t already then they won’t. Now, if we could figure out the factory the displays are manufactured in, then we may be on to something.

I Checked now with 3utools the Serials from display panels.

1st iPhone 12 pro, 39/2020, Sn: F17DG, Panel Sn: G9P0356 (Date 2020-08-29)
2nd iPhone 12 pro, 49/2020, Sn: F17DT, Panel SN: G9P0466 (Date 2020-11-14)
3rd iphone 12 pro, 50/2020, SN, F17DV, Panel SN: G9P0491 (Date 2020-11-30)

All three had/have raised blacks and look yellow. I will leave the 12 Series out and wait for the 13.
I'm no longer interested in this lottery.
Hope Apple does not make this mistake again with the 13 Pro.
Apple seems to have crossed over the fine line seeking maximum profit to the penny and what they can get away with for the average consumer.

Just checked my wife's display shows same green like mine via camera photo but not in real life to the eyes . Her display serial is G9Q mines G9N. Serials mean nothing. Also both the same in my eyes.
For some reason her settings screen don't rotate even with rotate lock turned off. ? Hers left mine right.
PS I should note I’m not complaining about green tinting issues. For A: I can’t see them in real life and B: I never use device on zero brightness setting in a cupboard 😂

This green tint thing (especially visible with dark mode) is definitely some kind of defect with the display.

3 out of the 4 iPhone 12 PM that I went through had this issue, only 1 did not. I recommend returning if you can and buying another one.

Yep a defect that only my camera pics up but not my eyes. 😂
I can do the same with my note 20 ultra and also oneplus 8 pro.
As for returning them to buy another, will the Genius Bar allow me to take the replacement into a dark cupboard and take a pic to check first ?

Well, I guess defect might be the wrong word to use, it could be just variances in OLED screen production that results in this.

Regardless, for me, it was visible with dark mode and contributed to display colors that were unacceptable.

If you are unhappy for any reason, from my experience, the Apple store doesn't care, if you are within the return period, you can return and buy another one without any questions asked.

My 12 PM replacement SN starts with G0ND yet I still have the black flickering issue (full black video at lowest brightness in pitch black room).

I don't know why the G0 is being preferred here... are they supposed to not have any/less issues? Because mine does including the warmer display.

Have you noticed a very small green "glow" near the Apple logo when you restart/power on your phone? I did notice it.

Also the grays in settings menu look green in photos (taken with an S6, posted in this thread before) but I did not see any green tint in real except the glow near the Apple logo. Me not seeing it might be a defect in my eyes but Idk tbh.

I need a sample to compare against what people have used here. The only video I saw last night from this forum was a this link
And I found a part that didn’t go totally black when it was supposed to. So I checked it on my note 20 ultra and it also didn’t go black in the scene where the audio commentary says it does.
I think it’s safe to assume Samsung makes some duff low grade panels. All these issues bar the true tone yellow one is noted on all other forums that I’ve participated in , inc Oneplus 8 pro and Samsung mobile device forums.

On that video you linked I also see that slight backlight when there is that white dot in the middle... to me a real test is with a video like this... in a dark room with brightness at the lowest I don’t see anything. Pure pitch black.

How do you spot this “defect” or the green tint?

If I’m unhappy I’ll just return it. I’m not going to keep buying and returning devices , the last one I returned had frame damage out of the box , this one has also but within my tolerance levels mentioned in a previous post I made on here.

This true tone is growing on me so much that I’m finding myself leaving it on and also not using dark mode anymore. Nearly all my other OLED devices I’ve always had dark mode enabled as I’ve found whites harsh I guess plus I’d like to save battery. Talking of which, the battery on this device is amazing. I’m one of those old farts that use the 80 -40% charge discharge rule. I’m getting over 5 hours for 40% battery consumption sometimes 6 hours.

And the G9Q screens?

I was hoping Apple would fix the screens by now but no, my iPhone 12 Pro Max that came on 4th January has green glow and yellow tint, it’s going back for a full refund. I might get 11 Pro instead or something...

Hi
The website to check manufacturing info is not working for me? Does anyone know why? Is there any other website I can use?

This is the one I'm using

Thank you
You could use 3utools via pc.

I wonder what happened to last year’s OLED screen. X’s OLED screen looks really good.
There’s one thing that hasn’t been mentioned. Your comment is echoed in many other device forums as well. Example, the Samsung note 20 forums , some folks are discontent when comparing their current Samsung note 20 ultra to their older Note 10, same with happened with each current generation. It’s the blue light filter reduction on oled panels year on year that causes the oled to look somewhat not as white and bright than previous generations. Bear in mind this hasn’t got anything to do with true tone being aggressively yellow nor the green tint.
