You're wrong.

So you're saying the iPod touch is gonna have a bigger camera and flash with mute and volume buttons?

The volume button cutouts look EXACTLY like the current iPod touch design, and how can you tell the size of the camera and flash by these case designs? Special eyes?

Holy... guys it's an iPhone. The iPhone is one of Apple's flagship products, and the iPod Touch is derived from it. From the looks of the rumored iPhone 5 design, it seems as though the iPhone is taking a few hints from the iPod Touch this time.

Apple would release a revamped iPhone before they release a revamped iPod Touch, it's common sense.

The case manufacturers got the design from an iPhone 5 case design schematic. The case has a mic, and a headphone jack with noise cancellation where the iPhone usually as it.
Also, the case compliments the rumors we've been hearing about the iPhone 5, with even Case-Mate agreeing to the design's legitimacy.

If this is not the iPhone 5 design. Then not only will we be extremely disappointed, but case manufacturers will lose a lot of money, and that's something no company wants to lose.

Why do people keep saying this? There is no evidence that any case manufacturer has mass produced anything regarding the iPhone 5 rumored design.

A larger, and non-brick designed iPhone would be a huge draw to keep an iOS device in my daily life...I'm all for it. But this statement seems like nonsense to me....unless someone can show me that these cases have already been mass produced by a legit company.

Outside of the fact that you can buy them in bulk on the web???? Oh, and reports that they are all over China?

And they take up to 15 days to fill your order; which means they are made when you pay for them; which means the manufacturer isn't losing money on producing the cases.

And sorry, being all over China (reportedly) does nothing for me. Actually, that might make me swing further in the direction that the design is not accurate

which means they are made when you pay for them;

Assumption on your part.

But like I said, people have said they are actually seeing these in stock in China.

Doubt all you like, I've done this a long time and I have a pretty good grasp on what to believe and what not to believe.

I think the fact that a person can go into a mall and buy an iPhone 5 case from a booth inside a North American mall, which is the same case as everyone is reporting to be the iPhone 5's, is a good enough reason to believe that they have been mass produced.

But you can doubt all you want, i can't persuade you into thinking otherwise.

Deduction from the facts that I saw. Must be ordered in bulk; and a 15 day wait to fill the order. That screams they are not made before ordered.

You disagree with my "assumption", or do you think those cases are made in advance of orders being made?

I disagree with your assumption. Those sites always take a long time and I doubt it's because they manufacture to order each time.

Besides, the above post pretty much proved your wrong already.

Definitely interesting and holds more water than the bulk-order-only web deals that have been posted. And you're right, you can't persuade me into thinking otherwise really...only Apple can :)

After seeing the old threads about the 3g and 3gs 'leaks', I hope I'm "that guy" who doesn't buy the whole thing haha. But then again, those threads had actual pictures of the actual device...not a bunch of mock ups. I hope tomm is the day they send out the invites finally!

You also need to consider other devices that were figured out based on their cases such as the iPad 2.

Apple is getting better and better at keeping their secrets (except when they want them leaked). Our best hope at this point seems to be the case manufacturers and the parts suppliers that have employees not as worried about the occasional leak as Apple is.

Hmmm, is it cheaper to buy an iPhone 5 case now before the iPhone 5 is even out yet... or is it better to wait until they announce it and buy it with all the other people? ;)

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple was behind some of the leaks. It could well be a part of their Marketing scheme.

The leaks to WSJ, most definitely.

The parks leaks, definitely not (people have been sued for doing so in the past).

And I really think the case leaks are a calculated risk that they accept. They are ok with the general dimensions/size/shape being leaked so that they can have cases available at launch.

This is where you're wrong. The expense part is tooling design and mold creation. Actual production costs very little (I worked in the mold design industry).

The fact that several companies have gone to this expense says a lot (whether it's for the iPhone 5 or something else).

Well aren't you so funny?

I believe you missed the mute button cutouts and the mic cutout on top
