oh well i ordered the new version with magnetic closure so if the skin needs to go thats fine as i have not used my smart cover since i got the CHINAO wheat case but as much as i love it its just too pretty to use all the time.

Hi. Where did you place your order to ensure you are getting the magnetic closure version? Thanks.

no prob i guess i just do too much research when i purchase. But the wheat colored cowhide chinao is still at the top of my now 5 case list.

Yes Lauren likes that too. Do you have it?
I'm very curious on the rubber edged iCarer similar to this Yoobao but with a tongue flap. If it's as thin as the Yboo, I can see why iCarer used a closure, but magnetic seems more ideal and less obtrusive. The tongue reminds of an early iPad1 fave from Macally I had, Bookstand I think,. I liked it 'cept for the tongue stuck out!
Icarer, Yoobao, Chinao...leather/microfiber/canvas/.............Aaah! I see how this works now........but I'm thinking the two of you might need a Support Group for your erm.......Case Problem. Tabitha, you should know that the Gigaguy HAD to build on an extra room to store his habit.

im not that bad yet 3 or 4 cases did get a few iPhone cases to match the china cases, just got shipping notification on the islim, had to remove the carbon fiber skin due to the wheat case being so tight and wanted another slim case for days i needed black skinny and not black executive leather thats on the china vaja clone, so many choices and so little time before ipad3 is here then start all over again. But look at all the cases i have and i haven't even spent what some spend one 1

Since you've got a fair share of cases could you let me know off the top off your head which ones did fit with your carbon fiber skin? I am still on the hunt but with a back skin it makes it extremely tough.

Thx

uh hmm. I'm more talk than hoarder. I've tried many and returned a few. My go to case is still the first type Yooabo I had (leather exec v2 I got for $14.) sold the $14 red and brown ones I had. I've only had one other model Yooboa, the iSlim which I returned due to weak flap syndrome and bad smart fold.
I still want to try the iCarer. but now having the bezel covering Yoobao and a no-bezel Yoobao, I can see an advantage to an in-between bezel, like maybe the Chinao wheat has? A little subtle lip could be good, for holding. I find the no bezel more uncomfortable to hold. yea I'm picky but the iPad is enhanced by the right case imhO.

They all fit fit with the back skin, it was just that with the chinao wheat case it was just such a tight fit i decided to remove the skin. I don't think it was so much the skin but the rough texture of the carbon fiber skin that made it tough to slide in and out. But it was fine with all the cases i have had. I don't use the smart cover any longer since i have full protection in the 4 cases i have, oh and you get a free Yoobao screen protector using coupon code freeyoobaosp on any purchase of $29 or more

Oh, I didn't know there was a mag close version out. I wonder if this improves the fold security when in typing mode.

well received the case today and the magnetic closure work well, not quite the snap of the Apple smart cover but much better than the Yoobao ver 3 and ismart its very thin lightweight and a nice quality synthetic and doesn't have any smell. The typing and stand positions are stable but you need to make sure that the cover is folded properly but thats easy to figure out once you use it a few times. But i am one to see a $35 case as a $35 case. Its great case thus far.

Can you share some flicks Tab?

Well, the corner clips are amazingly minimal, so I wonder if a back skin in the very corner areas might effect the corner clips. there is not much to the clips. I was amazed they even snapped shut and held. but seems tight, did not come off.

Actually I have a carbon fiber skin on the back, thicker than a clear skin, that covers up to about 1/8th from the edges, does not seem to effect the clips. THe clips snap off pretty easy when wanting to remove the case tho, but if I push against the trim near the corners to try to make it come off, the clips did not release.
minimal is the word. again, the flimsy positioned flap is the biggest drawback. it moves a little just when grabbing it to pick up or carry. They did this to make it shut flat. there might be a way to stiffen the hinge, but anything applied to it is gonna have to stick well.

I really need a case for my iPad, but I don't want anything really bulky. Is this lightweight material? Also, have you experienced loosening of the hinges? Some hinges become worn out and flimsy once they have been opened and closed numerous times. I just purchased a couple of smartshell cases, and now I need one for my iPad. I would like to purchase one pretty soon.

Just got this case in today.... I'm actually pretty impressed.

Quick Impressions:

Super thin and lightweight, sleep/wake feature works fine, pleather has no nasty smell, standing/typing position works great...holding the iPad 2 in vertical position and holding the cover around the back is a little weird, will take the binding a little breaking in to fold nicely, iPad 2 snaps in easily...

And yeah, thats about it. It's nice, I like it. It's simple and works well. All cutouts also align very well, perfect even.

A video review perhaps will come of this..

This is for the wheat one right? And it will fit with a full body front and back skin?

I'm thinking of getting it today hmm

i just pre ordered on of these i too have a carbon fiber skin on the back of my iPad. How bad is it?

Just ordered the Yoobao Islim case myself. Had the yoobao magic case for my iPad 1 and for the $35 I spent, it was a nice case. It did add a bit of bulk to the iPad 1, and it was a bit heavier than i would have liked though. I expect this one to be much thinner and lighter but with less protection coverage, but since I never take the iPad out of the home, and just want a thin case to offer some back and screen protection when I put it down on a table, I think this is the case for me.

If I drop the iPad, it is my fault. Heck, If I drop anything electronic, I expect it to break.

I am glad someone else thinks that way, i hate it when people blame the case for them dropping there iPad, Use AmEx to purchase and there the best cover in the world. Accidental Damage protection.

After receiving the case and examining it fully, I returned the case for the following reasons;

The leather was not uniformly stained or colored. It appeared to have marks on it which looked like food stains.
The front cover did not close correctly. It sat crooked, and I even made sure the tuck in flap was tucked in correctly, so that wasn't the problem.

All in all, it certainly was not worth the money I paid, so i returned it and received a prompt refund.

I have a friend that ordered the same case, and he returned his as well because of similar issues.

Chinao is a thumbs down for me!!!

FYI www.chinao-usa.com is not a link to the company Chinao. Don't assume it is!

amazing that you are posting this in a thread about a Yoobao case that is
A. Not a CHINAO Product
B.Does not have a Flap to tuck since the islim is and open bezel case it has corner clips
C. the iSlim is Black Synthetic Leather thus how can it be un uniform color
D. You are downing everyones cases but the one you are promoting in the thread you started????

We all make mistakes except you right? .
I thought this was a thread about the Chinao case I ordered and returned. I'll have to be sure to post my review in that thread. I have had a Yoobao Magic iPad 1 case in the past which I liked very much, and I have indicated that in other posts.

Geez.. Bite my head off!
