Will Yoobao exchange early adopter cases for the new batch?

Hahaha.. i doubt it.

While its not the best case... i still plan on using it until i find something else (and lets be honest, even if it was a GREAT case i'd get bored of it and end up getting something else later anyway).

I did take my iPad to a local shop to get a screen protector installed... everybody in line with smart covers where jealous. I should have sold it to one of them for $50  .

What local shop installs protectors?

What new batch might you be talking about?

There is no new batch as of yet this is a ploy by sellers to get your money according
To a great source Yoobao has no new batch in the works and still working on a solution. So turn off your sleep wake function when needed and get some exercise by putting some energy into pushing that difficult button they call the sleep wake button,
As far as the smell I think its getting a little old it does go away bottom line is its a great case for the money even with the shortfalls

Red Yoobao Case

My Red Yoobao case arrived from Voldemort:D I paid for PRIORITY MAIL but am still impressed that it arrived so fast as I didnt order it til Friday night 7 PM CST!

2nd, the smell wasn't TOO bad...and interestingly, the seller had opened up one end of the case to maybe let it breathe? What worries me more than the smell is the red dye...I tried sticking the thin cardboard behind the iPad thinking maybe it would help weaken the magnets (to keep it from shutting off when folder). It of course didnt work but when I pulled it out, I saw 2 light red "smears" on it. If it dyes my brand new iPad, I will seriously cry.

3rd, it turning off when horizonal with back flap folded over might be more of a deal-killer to me than the smell. Is there a work around besides turning off the feature. For now, I'm putting the styrofoam sheet in between the flaps.

So, does anyone think the dye might stain the iPad?

Finally, I know in the grand scheme of things, this is a minor bump in the road but why can't someone make a case that 1. covers both sides and 2. not made w/ poor quality stuff? And I want something thing ~ Yoobao vs Treegoo etc that has piece of wood in it. I'll have to decide what to do...sorry to rant

I am very concerned about that turning on/ off function defects. Yoobao will not exchange the old ones for the new ones. This issue is pretty serious and I am not buying one until they come up with the fix. I was told that yoobao is working on the fix and they are actually done with the fix. But, of course, I am taking this as a grain of salt. My iPad is coming this week and I am going to hold off as long as I can until they come up with the fix. I do feel that they are working on it though...

Lol. Great work around for a flaw in the design.

I have a question for you. Your particular case, what color is the lining? The reason I ask, is that some of the pictures posted on different sellers' sites showed a red lining, and others showed a grey. Is your's red, that stained the cardboard you inserted behind the ipad?

I am starting to wonder if there are different "builds/versions" of this case. I received a red case in one of the very first shipments of this latest Yoobao case. Mine has zero smell or oily feel to it. I can take a white towel and rub it directly on the red cover, and no rub-off red will show on the towel.

What also has me wondering is that I have a first generation yoobao ipad cover that is a year old, and it has worn extremely well. If you check in that very first yoobao thread, you will see no mention of odor or color transfer.I also have no sleep/wake issues with the front flap. The whole thing is just too weird...

Just got the case. I'm from Montreal Canada, ordered it last Monday, got it today. Case is great but is it soooo smelly. Will hang it in my backyard for a couple of days to see if the smell goes away. I don't mind that much of the smell, but thing is I have to wash my hands EVERYTIME I touch this case.

I got the red yoobao from "he who must not be named" today. The inside is gray. I will try to post pictures later.
As for the smell, its kinda bad but I have put it on the clotheline outside. I will check up on it later to see if it still smells..

The shipping was extremely fast. I ordered it before noon Saturday and its on my doorsteps before 11 am Monday. That's with the regular shipping.

Mine is gray as well...but I agree with the other person - I have to wash my hands after touching it - feels oily. It's a SHAME that they didn't uphold the same level of quality as the first version. I think they tried to be first onto the market (excluding Smart Cover of course) and maybe rushed too many details. I have to say the seller is Awesome - he already responded to my request for a Return/Refund.

P.S. Took a closer look, the lining that goes around the inside "trim" (front of iPad) is red. I think I was being paranoid about the dye tho. It's more the not-so-natural smell and mainly the "defective" ON/OFF feature that is the deal-killer.

Well I managed to make it a year using the sleep wake button I think ill live with out it for a month when my CHINAO VAJA 2 style premium leather case gets here from he who must not be named and it has the sleep wake function that works.
I do think with all the effort people have put into negativity in here they light to be emailing Yoobao with there complaints and concerns telling them that they should replace the case with a proper one or they have lost a customer for life. From what I'm hearing is that the sellers are not only stuck with alot of defective cases but returns and refunds as well, very costly for something that wasn't their fault. If enough preasure is put on yoobao it may just benifit all. I know I voiced my opinion.

I'm not happy with the smart feature on the case either. Not only does it trigger from the back, but on the front, the shifting of the flap when closed triggers it too easily. If they bring out a fixed one, there should be some option/compensation on the first one. I guess I can email the k seller about it.
darn and I just got the smell/toxicity down to 2 or 3 on a 10 meter.

I kinda agree with you (and I'll send them an email) but I'm pretty sure that Yoobao DOES NOT CARE. If they did, they would be backing up their Authorized sellers like Voldemort. He told me as well that they will not take back any stock. I am Asian so I am not anti-Asian but I am very suspicious of "Big Business" in China. Too little regulation and they don't seem to care about making things right. In their minds, they already got the $ from the sellers who invested heavily into their product.

P.S. Can you confirm that the Vaja2 like case will have that feature? Just saw a video on Youtube of their textured leather case and it stated "no magnets"

Just got my Yoobao black case in, and while first impressions are good, it has all the problems everyone else has:

Closing the flap needs to be precise, like the front cover should extend a tad further to properly interface with the magnets on the iPad 2. It doesn't, so it barely turns my screen off 75% of the time.

Flapping the cover around the back turns my screen off. Every time.

Gah. What a waste. :(

I know my seller who we cant mention got stuck with about a thousand cases and yoobao is not taking any back and he is now about to lose his business as a result plus all of the returns not right.
The Chinao hasn't been listed yet

That's sad. His service was really good, maybe I'll lay off. just sell them a little cheaper as 'Turn Off the Auto on/off feature' cases. The case is overall nice for the price. If these manufacturers are really as hard axx as previous poster says tho, then the reseller has to know how they do business and the risks in dealing with them and selling their products.

Reply from Yoobao too funny

Hi, David,

We haven’t any actions on the case

Smell problem pull out the plastic bag from gift box, it’ll help you to remove the smell.

Just want to say, very new products must have some risk, please understand of this. And we will try our best to make it better in future.

Sincerely yours, Bandy.zhou Shenzhen YOOBAO Technology Co., Ltd

See what I mean about them not caring?;)
My favorite line is "Smell problem pull out the plastic bag from gift box, it’ll help you to remove the smell. " CLASSIC.

Btw, my family is begging me to THROW IT OUT as they can't stand the smell. It's not "bad" like rotten food etc but at the same time, it is very "chemically" and is making my nostrils flare...my husband thinks it may be unsafe for our children and doggy. I am 99.9% sure it ain't real leather - no leather smells like that.

Funny, I emailed AYL on amazon to cancel my order which has not shipped 6 minutes ago. I just got an email that it shipped now. WTH? I really want to just reject the package now.
