Yeah. Wish it was more protected around the border instead of just the corners. As for portrait mode, it looks as if there is a bit of reinforcement that would suggest that you can.

Yeah thats the problem I seem to encounter with cases that do not hold your ipad from the top, it usually holds it from the corners and offers little protection anywhere else. What Im actually wondering is how well it stays in there if its on its side or turned upside down since its only held in 4 places.

An awesome idea for holding the iPad in place that no one has even considered yet is with a large suction cup on the back side you would lay your iPad in and it would hold with pure suction. Nothing else would really be needed as suction can be stronger then most human force. A small tab could be placed near the top that you would pull to release the suction.

i'd almost like a TPU type case that fits all around the ipad, inlayed in a folio style exterior. easy in and out of the ipad, while protecting all around including screen when not in use.

i must say im very impressed with this case... quality and fit is great...
i recvd the black one last sat.

i dont have any kind of annoying smell either that some were complaining about..

So i recieved my case last week and hadn't had my ipad in a state to take it everywhere so havent gotten around to using it much. but one thing i do notice is that mine isn't perfectly aligned when in the case. it needs to go in just a little bit farther. but when i push it that extra bit, it raises the border of the case on the right edge so its raised.

not sure if i need it to break in a bit or if this is a manufacturing problem. anyone else face an issue like this?

Yes, the one I have is the same way -- the home button is not quite centered and I had to push the iPad in firmly in order to plug in the charger cable. I'm hoping that a few days of use will solve that issue. Overall, I think it's a very nice, sturdy case for the money and for now it serves my purposes.

Magnets?

Does anyone know if there is something exactly like the yoobao folio, but with a snap closure instead of the magnets? I just worry about the long term effects of the magnets on the screen.

I just got my Yoobao brown case a couple of days ago. I like the appearance. I did have to let it air out to get rid of the strong leathery(?) smell, but that has gotten better. My biggest complaint is that the case is a little too big, top to bottom, and it lets the iPad slide down enough so that the light sensor is covered. Side to side (L-R), the case fits well. Does anyone else have this problem with this case?

Here we go

 no more white stitching, no more magnet,
any feedback are welcome thanks guys

Wow that is really nice. I would pick up something like that. Only I don't like the other method of standing. I think that is just personal preference though. If the case simply had that drop in method of insertion, with the simplicity of V1 and V2...I could go for something like that. Those side clips that hold the ipad in the middle...strange.

Could be in the minority though. Great job with meeting our suggestions though. Really looking forward to what you have coming out dplxy. I will hold off on buying the current generation for the one with the rails/corners/and white stitching!

I actually like this case ALOT aside from the gray interior. I like the corner slip in method and find that looks better than the bezel. I think you are thinking about rails right?

Looks great so far!

My questions: Real leather or PU? Any chance of other colors? How much will it weigh?

this one hit the sweet spot....

nice design..

i got a lot of great feedback from here

i bugged yoobao a lot about white stitching and other things. they listened =)

they can always change the interior, but the gray color is easier to keep it clean, black shows everything.

I like the design of the new executive case, but I liked the white stitching as it resembles the interior of my Porsche 911.

Question: how does the new case work in the typing position? Is there a flap to secure the front while flipped over. Also, can you turn the cover around and have it flat against the back? When can I buy it? :)

This executive case look like a mix between the Incase Convertible Book Jacket, see here: http://www.goincase.com/products/detail/cl57512R/6
and the plastic all around the ipad like the Macally Bookstand: http://www.macally.com/en/product/ArticleShow.asp?ArticleID=320 or the XGear Live folio ! http://www.xgearlive.com/products/for-ipad/folio-carbon-fiber/folio

I hope that Yoobao won't have the same problem like the Incase about the last lowest angle groove, as reported here: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/897533/

Btw, we really need a reseller of Yoobao here in canada :)

that looks so cool!! if it holds steady in most positions i will get it asap, no extra bulk like the incase, i wonder how well the ipad holds in place if the back can bend like that though, really looking forward to some review

The new case looks great. When do you anticipate it will be available for purchase and for how much $?

Thanks.

I should be getting a test unit very soon,

i want to make sure there are no surprises.

once the unit is tested out, i will get the case here ASAP.

price should be the same as the yoobao V2 case, 40 USD give or take.

this case looks very nice. just still a little weary about the overall coverage. not something id toss in a bag with other things due to the exposure of the border of the ipad.

i also need to get around to PMn you dplxy about the case i received from you last week.

dplxy, will you have yoobao cases v2 with black stitching? or will that not be on your priorities list? If the next version of this case will be this design, I might go back to v2.

the v2 only have white stitching for now =(

I really like the executive case too. I would prefer a slightly different way to stand the device in landscape mode, but I can certainly live with the way it is now.

Are the two extra tabs to hold the iPad in place really required? They detract a little bit from the sleekness of the case, but if they provide more security then I can live with them as well.

Dplyx, I'm also in Canada if you can direct me to a Canadian distributor that would be great.

I had the Incase Jacket before my Yoobao, and the grooves could not sustain the weight of the iPad, kept slipping out when I tried to type, especially in the last groove, which is the optimum position/angle for typing. This is the main reason I replaced it with the Yoobao in the first place. In order to prevent this, the front of each groove should be slightly raised, the better to support the force of the iPad's weight, combined with the pressure of typing. If they could prevent the slippage, they could have the perfect design. Example:'
