Yoobao leather iPad case (OP updated with all revisions)

Dplxy, please talk with them about introducing other colors. Black is pretty universal, but plenty of us find it boring as heck. Given the option, I went with a grey case, and my husband went with brown for his iPad.

(and I'd buy that denim one if it came in the new Executive style!!!)
 
I would love to see a genuine brown sattle weathered leather version of this but I still love the black and I plan on getting it.

I'm still wondering how well it holds :)

I think that is the point - people would prefer to go with black first, and the production of colors would be too costly..

when the case is in the "traditional" stand position, how is the cover held in place against the back of the case? How stable is this arrangement?

i just got the picture last night
but when i was on the phone with yoobao, they said it is very staple
i will be getting the sample unit soon
will post soon. :D

How do you sucure the frontcover in the typing position? Magnets? Button? Friction? :confused:
 
shipping date for yoobao v3 exec case?

@dplxy, any idea on order and shipping dates for new case (v3)?
 
I also like the look and design of this case, although I'm not crazy about the gray color. Will there be other colors available? One concern that I noticed in the pics is whether the bottom "clip" (next to the docking port) will interfere with the insertion of the camera connector, which I have and use. That connector is wider than the dock connector, and it looks like that clip comes right up to the edge of the docking port. Might be something to pass on to Yoobao. Thanks!
 
Yoobao Knock-Off

Hey All!

I actually bought one of the knock-offs someone mentioned earlier in this thread:

Besides the awful smell when I originally unpacked it, it's a pretty awesome case. It's the rougher leather like the Yoobao, it does have the magnets around the corners to keep it closed, and there's no flap to keep the iPad in.

I really don't see a need to have the flap with this particular case though since the leather is really tight around the iPad and it won't budge at all. Sometimes I do have to push it up just a tad when syncing, but that's about it.

My only negative with the case is the fact that it sticks up just a bit where the ambient light sensor is, but I think the longer it's in the case the more it's going to conform to the shape and it may eventually go away.

Anyway, just wanted to throw up something about the knock-off since I haven't seen anyone else do so yet.

No pictures at the moment, but if people are interested I'll see what I can do about uploading some later. Just let me know!
