I'm little worried that there is not much protection on the sides. Is the leader covering enough around the edges to protect ipad? I'm asking about V3.

Some question for you please.

Got mine this morning, so will give you my tuppence worth.

1. How is the folds/hinges holding up? I'm always scared of them wearing out very quickly.

The "main" hinge seems to be very strong. Perhaps too strong. It is impossible to fold the cover flat at the back of the iPad, per the Apple case. However, this helps with rigidity when in the typing position.

2. Is the v3 made of Genuine Leather or TPU leather like the original?

It doesn't smell like leather, and I'm doubtful that it is, but it certainly looks like it.

3. How well does the case hold the ipad in place? Is it secure enough to turn upside down how well does the flap stay in place?

VERY secure. This aspect of the design is excellent. The iPad is held very firmly in place, as is the cover when the outer clip is closed.

4. How well does the case resist dust, particles, etc and how well does it clean?

Very well. Obviously much better than the Apple case in this respect.

Does that mean its not as sturdy in the typing position as the V2?

I can also confirm that despite not having the Apple-style flap, the typing position is very stable. As mentioned above, the sturdy hinge aids rigidity, and the cover flap clip points down in this position which helps to stop slipping, even on quite sheer surfaces. You also, in effect, have a choice of two typing angles - the Apple-style one, and the one you get at the lowest viewing angle.

Overall, I'd say this is the best approximation of the Apple case's functionality in a case made from more appealing materials. The leather effect outer and suede effect inner are good choices, both from an aesthetic and functional perspective. It holds the iPad very securely and offers an good protection without adding bulk. A good value case.

I've swapped from my Apple case and will report back how it copes with the rigours of regular use in a week or two.

You are exactly right, the "clips" on the left of the case don't actually clip onto the iPad, they merely act as side bumpers to stop it slipping out left. In fact, it is crucial to the design that the iPad is allowed to come away from these clips as when you put it in stand mode you need to bend the back of the case away from the iPad as can be seen from one of the pics posted earlier (re-posted below, credit to OP).

I must say though, the design works perfectly. The whole thing is just solidly held, really no movement at all. The back can bend away to put it into the stand mode, but it really doesn't come away at all any other time, the clips do kind of hug the edges so provide a small amount of grab to hold on and keep it flat. When you fold the cover to the back so that it's on itself (like folding a book cover back) it makes the side clips push in even more.

The case is a fantastic piece of design, I wouldn't have any hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

Still love the black and will get one, just wished it was available in genuine leather like Dplx announced, who seems to be missing :(

If it were available in genuine leather in black and in a dark worn sattle like material I would buy one of each.

So where are the US resellers for the v3? Maybe I should just front the 12.99 shipping from the UK. I don't think I can wait any longer.

There's a US seller taking pre-orders to ship out late next week. Unfortunately I need it sooner so Canada might be my only option.

If you use Yoobao case with magnets, I'd like to ask you if you have experienced problems using compass or gps functionality with it.

I just bought the Yoobao Denim from this seller on ebay.

http://myworld.ebay.com/kevikevdottcom/

He's in Cali. service was excellent, it is what it is supposed to be and I believe he said he had the newer case coming in this next week. email him, he is fast on the response and a top rated seller.

As for the Denim Case, it works for me, he has the leather also.

I don't think so. The vendor in that listing says that v4 is out of stock and will be in next week, but that v3 is in stock.

The pictures show the case we, and the sellers in this thread, refer to as the V3.

From my understanding of this case in this particular position, it is not as sturdy or stable as the V2 (since there is no 'locking' guard/tab/receiver on the back of the case to prevent the iPad free from moving at various inclines).

This leaves the iPad loose to move at various inclines which is unfortunate because I imagine this would be one of the most popular positions for the iPad on a surface.

But it doesn't. It's still very sturdy in that position without the tab/slot arrangement (see above). You also have the advantage of a second typing position in the lowest viewing angle, which is also very stable.

Just received this:

"Thank you for buying Yoobao iPad case V.4 from me. I have sent it to you

a few days ago.

I just got an information from Yoobao company that Yoobao iPad case V.4
is not made by genuine leather, but high quality artificial leather.
They didn't tell me that before and when I got the cases I feel they are

so good and should be genuine leather cases as the previous v3 cases.
Those made me list them as genuine leather material....."

i am about to pull a trigger on this one but one thing really concerns me..
check it out how it charge, will the camera kit fits???

The V3(or V4 whatever) case arrived and it si PERFECT, typing position and all the stand positions are rock solid even if you dont "lock" it in the seams its still stable and the seams are so deep, that there is almost no way to bump it out of them. It does not add much bulk, but is sturdy so the iPad is secure and keeps closed very well (too much tbh, its a bit hard to close and open, but i guess it will stretch a bit). The SGP "leather" film on the back of my iPad is no issue and in fact it looks exactly like the fake leather on the case itself:)

The only negative thing is, that the cover does not flip around flat, but its no problem to hold the ipad in the case with one hand.

Hands down the best case i have ever seen, the quality and functionality is excelent and fits the ipad like a glove, go for it:)
