No, I don't use it as my main music player. Though, if I'm using it to surf the internet, play games, or write, I often use the music app for background music.

It's not my main music device, but I like to have my music on it, along with some movies, tv shows, etc. That's why iTunes Match is so great, as it takes up less space but your media still available when you need it.

I have no music at all on my iPad. I do have video... The first season of Game of Thrones, movies, etc.

As a music fanatic, this thread is just ludicrous. I have over 3 TB of music, though many are duplicates (lossless/mp3). I love music and have 20 gigs of different playlists on my iPhone/iPad.

No, After they changed the IPod/Music App. I want to grab Scott Forstall and shake him till he changes it back.

I have some music on my iPad so while I am at the book store or library, I can listen to my music on my iPad and continue working or reading from the same device. my iPhone has the bulk of my music from iTunes but both devices have pandora and tunein radio app so I can pick and choose whic device to listen to.

I was debating if I should put music in my future iPad. The reason I was debating is because I have over 10GB worth of music in it. That's when I decided I will and purchase the 64GB. I'm not a "gaming person", so this will compensate for the games. Music, pictures, videos, and apps (useful things like messenger, photo editing stuff, Flixster, Yelp) will fill it up.

Also, I'm just storing music in my iPad for emergency, I'm not going to be listening to my music through my iPad. That is just way too big. My friend listens to music through his iPad and it looks ridiculous.

No, I wouldn't use iPad as my main music player.

It's too big.
It has no official dock accesories with IR receiver such as Apple Universal Dock + Remote, which basically transform your iPod/iPhone into convenient music jukebox connected to my audio receiver. Airplay is too complicated to make the iPad playing music, I like to keep things simple.

I only sync two playlists: recently added songs & all-time favorites. That only amounts to about 400 songs, which isn't a whole lot. Those songs are only there should I ever be on my iPad and get an urge to play some music, and that way I don't have to grab another device for that purpose. Come to think of it, the only times I've plugged headphones into my iPad for the purpose of listening to music, has been been when I'm flying. I just put the music on as background noise while I play a game or surf the web. It's much easier to launch the Music App than to pull out my iPhone and play through there.

My main music players are my iPod Nano, which I use in my car via USB, and my iPhone when I work out.

I gave this some thought and I realize that my iPhone goes everywhere my iPad does so I can always use that for listening even while I use the iPad for other things the added benefit is that I'll hear someone calling.

I will tie my iPad to my iTunes match account though so if I really want to I can use it for my music too.

I went for the 32GB model because retina apps may get way larger, plus if I want to store videos and pics on it the space comes in handy. Plus a few tv shows or movies for the road/plane ride.

YES! I don't download any music anymore. I just stream internet music stations or use Pandora or some other service. Luckily I have unlimited data, so I am always streaming in the car, or while traveling, etc. Most recently it was great on a trip from Denver to Breckenridge - I was in the back seat of the car and I hooked up my iPad1 to the car's bluetooth audio connection and I controlled the music from the back seat using Pandora (at the higher bit rate, 190kbps)!

Hrm, I use my pad as my main music device, if only for the fact that it's also for my videos and gaming as well. Previous to this, I was never inclined to using anything other than my PSP for that, but I sort of got tired of the small screen...

I've never used mine as an iPod for the simple fact that I already have a 160gb iPod Classic that takes care of all my music. I may have a couple of playlists on it but nothing elaborate.
