Ok I am gonna walk in my local Apple store on Saturday. If they have them I am buying one and if not I wont be mad either.

I should of never came here. Now I will be studying my screen for tinted colors, bleeding back lights, and dead pixels if decide to buy one.

I didnt even know what a bleeding back light was until now.

Saturday will be the day I decide.

Every single release, the forums are the same thing. Huge number of complaints about problems.

1.) Keep in mind every product can have defects. But the majority don't have any reasonable defects.
2.) Every component has issues. No component is perfect that is why we keep getting new and better ones. Every single LCD is existence has some backlight bleed. Some more than others. If you need to run full brightness on a black background in a completely dark room to see "unacceptable" defects, that should tell you something about the person making the statement rather than the component. :D

I've had every iPhone, iPad, and many Mac models. The iPad is the best one yet. If you want an iPad go buy one. If you do really get a defect, the employees at an Apple store will bend over backwards for real problems.

But the person exchanging their screen for theh 12th time due to "yellow tint" will probably be treated a little different.

And I never said every iPad, i said every ipad that YOU buy, which is what you referred until you just added you maybe to your last post.

This is semantics at this point and really don't care anymore

Yeah, i wasn't even talking about other peoples iPads..?

I haven't read a single thread on defects. I did check for dead pixels and I have none. As far as I can tell, my iPad is perfect and I'm not going to obsess over it. I have had no issues... it is beautiful and fast!

Im going for it! Hopefully they will have them this weekend.

The last I heard, over 3 million units were sold. There will always be a few defects in every production of any item. Don't let a few bad ones deter you from the big picture.

I hear the taste of arsenic is very good too, tastes like almonds? Also, I hear you can miraculously find a million dollars in your bank account if you are bave enough to stay on the tracks when a train is coming down the line.

LOL! Good come back madame! Good sense of humour too.

Don't sweat the forums, for the most part, people come here to complain, not to praise. I am sure you will be delighted with your purchase.

Forums are a great source for information, but at the same time they can really give you OCD :p

The worst offender is this big audio video gear forums which I won't mention here. I stopped visiting that forum when some "experts" measured the TV using light meters so measure a certain defect so minute I'll never notice it in actual use.

If you bought something and it doesn't have obvious defects, enjoy it and don't look for problems otherwise you'll never enjoy it once you inevitably find something.

I had my iPad 64gb delivered on 16th, I checked for dead pixels straight away and found 1... I decided that I wouldn't return it as I could hardly see it, but I finally gave in today and returned it. I was told that because in was online stock they couldn't swap it for a sealed iPad and they would swap it for a one in cardboard box which were brand new, I checked it and found a dead pixel on that one... He said that there were no more of that model in stock and I would have to ring the online store to arrange a swap. He then said he would ask if he could swap it for one of their stock, they said it was ok but would need to get round it on the till by retuning the online purchase onto a gift card and then re-purchasing an iPad instore... To cut a long story short, first one had a particle under the screen, second one had what looked like a dodgy pixel but it was a mark on the screen, third one had a stuck pixel (stuck on white) and the fourth one was 100% ok... Spent 2 hrs in store but finally walked out happy.

3 out of 4 with dead pixels is not good. I mean is anyone checking these screens for quality assurance?

I'd say about 5% or less of the people buying the new iPad have problems... but 90% of the 5% are posting their bad experiences online. :p

One dead Pixel;
2048-by-1536-pixel resolution at 264 pixels per inch (ppi) that would make one pixel roughly 1/16 sq inch - close to thickness of a Penny i would say.

If you want one, bayou should buy it and enjoy it. I upgraded from th it's iPad and am loving it. The new iPad is amazing, and I think that you would enjoy it.

Lol forums are the worst place to come and seek for advice. All ur gonna see is Problems, Problems, Problems.. But that's the fun of it! Loll

Just buy it and enjoy it. Life is too short to sweat the little things. People are deliberately trying to find things wrong with them. I have had all 3 iPads and never had an issue with any of them. And if I did I would just exchange it. It would never stop me from buying something that I enjoy so much.

Sent from my new iPad!!
