I'm at 91% with 20 charges. WTF

It is perfectly normal if your battery health (maximum capacity) is more or less than 100%, even when brand new, or if it fluctuates up or down over time. The gradual decline is not in a straight line downward, and it may decline more rapidly at some times and slower at others. For further details, read the CHECKING STATUS AND HEALTH section of the following link.
The link below should answer most, if not all, of your battery/charging questions. If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend you take the time to read it.

My 2009 Unibody 17MBP is currently having:

786 Cycles
66% Battery Health

Why is my battery health so poor?

Nothing to complain...

Mine is awful

Age of Mac: 49 Months
Battery Loadcycles: 660
Design Capacity: 5450mAh
Current Capacity: 2457
45%

:-(

I guess I can get mine replaced for free then?

Mac model: MBP 8.1
Age: 32 months
Battery loadcycles: 196
Battery capacity: 79%

My mid-2011 MBP 15" has almost 400 Cycles on it.. I generally seem to 'run it empty' about Once a Month for no particular reason other than using it..

Typically shows ~88-92% and am still pretty happy with the Battery Life.. Will last 4-5 hrs if not taxing the system much!! :apple:

:(

22%
488 cycles

Can barely get 5-10 min on the battery and it's bulging.

But it's from 2009 so no more AppleCare.

I would certainly have the battery replaced before the bulging damages your Mac.

I know. I'm desperately waiting for the new mbp. Then, once I've migrated to the new computer, I'll have the old one fixed and my daughter will get it. I can't be without a computer for work and there are no apple stores within less than 2 hrs drive.

53 months

Pretty sad. Desperate for a new MacBook. This 09 is getting a little slow. Really can't decide if I want an Air, or 13/15 rMBP. What to do!

My rMBP13 shows after 17 cycles 98$. But when I charge it to 100%, unplug it - it shows 100%.

My early 2011 Macbook Pro 15" had 479 cycles and 2% health
Just got a new battery though yesterday.... Sooooooo hopefully will have better luck this time.

Here's mine... hit 400 a little less than 2 years ago. Just replaced it last week after showing signs of swelling at 602 cycles.

Most of the time hovers around 82% on Snow Leopard. Occasionally dip below 80% when using Mavericks and. Should I say Mavericks killed my battery...?

And yet Apple claims battery can still hold 80% reaching 1000 cycles...

Their circuitry already aught to have the capabilities to do this.

It does to some extent, if connected to AC it will charge and discharge but only in a region of 95-100%, after all it doesn't know when you are going to need battery and for how long, people would soon complain if they connected to AC but when they needed battery they find that Apple has discharged it to 50% to extend the battery life. As with most things, the designers have compromised.

Mine is at 1015 cycles and 89% health after 3yrs 9mths.

I just got the data from "about my mac" -> power

full charge capacity = 8725
charge remaing = 8498
fully charged = yes
charging = no,

Does this mean i am siting at 8498/8725 = 97.4%?
this is only after 21 cycles.

when I got it new, it came with 11 cycles already. so for the past 5 months i only put 11 cycles on it and it is already 3% down??

maybe I used it wrong? thought in old days you not suppose to charge it if it is not all the way down or stop charging when it is 100%. but i thought this is changed so I just charge whenever i can and once a month i let it go down to below 20%.

Strange...

Your battery is fine.

Run on battery whenever you need to and plug it in whenever you can. You can plug or unplug any time you need to, regardless of the charged percentage, and you never need to completely drain your battery.

Thanks that is very helpful. the "change remaining" did change even it says fully charged.
