The dynamic island looks awful and is a downgrade from the notch, which I already hated. When they showed full screen video I cringed so much, it’s so distracting I would personally consider it unusable for consuming 21:9 video.

Not to forget: anybody doing ProRes video recording at 4K 30fps, you need the 256gb pro models or up for that. Otherwise it will be limited to 1080p 30fps for 128gb models.

I'd have been okay with Lightning if they had increased the speed to support USB 3.0 speeds as was rumored might be a possibility, but sounds like we're still stuck with USB 2.0 speeds.

I find it wild that anyone considers this acceptable. But each to their own, I’ll stick with what I’ve got for another year and hope they start shoving things behind the screen next year.

So, no upgrade again for me. After I got a full frame Sony a7iv camera, i don’t take pics or video with my phone anymore, so the camera is whatever. The only reason I would’ve upgraded my iphone 12 mini would have been USB-C. I’m sick and tired of carrying two cables around, I’m done with this garbage.

The 13 Pro Max actually had a perfectly designed notch in relation to its screen, so that it was never in the way while watching videos full screen. The regular 13 Pro had a teeny tiny overlap in that regard, but now that this cutout is so much lower, I guess, it will always be in the way of watching videos, which would not be great.
