With Fallout 3, I felt like I was playing Oblivion in an ugly apocalyptic setting.
That was pretty much the point of the game. Oblivion with guns. I liked Oblivion, a lot. But there was just something about Fallout 3 that hooked me. The quests were fun and interesting, the visual style of the game was great, and many of the weapons and perks were great. I do need to go back to Oblivion again though, because it really is a great game.

For me it was Fallout 3, no doubt. It reminds me, in many ways, of the Zelda games, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Deus Ex and Bioshock. In good ways, that is. I've never played Oblivion, so I can't compare it to that. I didn't really like S.T.A.L.K.E.R., by the way, but I did like it's open gameplay.
