1. Original 15" 2006 1.83 Core Duo etc etc
2. No, In fact its awaiting a new screen and HDD, and I have a MacBook and MacBook Air, so dont see it as that high priority (I also have a Mac Pro w/ Cinema as my main machine, so that pushes it further down the list).
3. Used to carry it around in an incase sleeve, but I now use the same sleeve for my 15" 1.67 PowerBook G4.

1. Which MacBook Pro do you have?
2006 Core Duo 15" 1.83 MacBook Pro. It's got the maximum 2GB of RAM and I've just fitted a 500GB HD to replace the 80GB standard.

2. Is the Pro your main computer? Do you use it along with an external monitor, another computer(s), iPad?
It was my main computer when I first had it and it was used for a while with a 20" ACD but it's been my second computer since I got my 24" iMac three years ago. It's not worth much now so I'll keep it until it packs in and will probably end up getting an iPad to replace it.

3. Use a sleeve, skin, speck case? What kind of bag or backpack have you found suitable for the Pro's?
I've got a cheap Antler case for the odd occasion when it leaves the house.

This looks like a fun thread, I'll participate!

2011 15" MacBook Pro Hi-Res AG 2.3Ghz AMD6750 blah blah

Yes, main computer, use it with Samsung 32" 720p HDTV. I also use iPad but for my fun stuff, such as casual gaming and web browsing on the bed. The MBP is used for gaming, web browsing, casual video editing, and streaming videos for grad school, since I don't attend my lectures lol. The white UMB pictured is my GF's. She also uses this setup.

I have the Wrapsol skin, as seen on the palmrest. I use a Jansport bookbag that has a laptop holder and a cheap target sleeve for added protection when transporting.

I bought a secondary 85watt adapter to leave at the desk to charge both of our Macs and I use the other 85watt PSU for when I travel with the MBP. Dock pictured is used to charge iPod Touch and iPad first gen.
Other: Cooler Master P2 laptop cooler; Razer Naga Epic + Kabuto, Sennheiser HD555

IKEA desk with 8 slot cubbies. Underneath the desk is a Brother 2270DW wireless duplex printer. GF and I brother graduated with Bachelor's from the University of Kansas. ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!!

how u liking te moshi palm gaurd? ive been debating whether to get it

I'd love a large window in front of my desk like that.

I feel quite fortunate to have the view. Sunsets are a spectacular display every day. I also get a nice breeze. Coming to the office is quite enjoyable :)

Buy a nice Logitech MX Revolution (used) or the Logitech Performance Mouse MX instead. They are much more ergonomic can do much more than the Magic Mouse and you can usually get the MX Revolution for a lot cheaper than the Magic Mouse as well.

I've had horrible luck with logitech in the past. But, I do like how that mouse looks. Do all of the buttons work with the MBP?

magic mouse works on your tabletop? very nice. Mine is see through kinda rough glass so no dice :(

Early 2008 MacBook Pro - Penryn 2.5Ghz, 6Mb L2 Cache, 8600M GT 512Mb, 4Gb OCZ DDR2, 500Gb 7200rpm, 1440x900 Glossy Display

MBP is my main computer, but have an Acer Aspire Revo R3700 HTPC

I use a Marware Sportfolio Deluxe, I love it

MBP specs in my signature, using it with the Griffin Elevator stand. Loving it, does the job efficiently and surprisingly hides the cable if your the user of course. (Yay, messy cables bygone)

Peripherals:

  • Apple's wireless keyboard: Best keyboard I have ever typed on, not joking. Feels much comfortable (ironically their supposedly the same) than my MBP's keys (when I thought they were the best keys... until this keyboard came along), although typing fast in Microsoft Word causes slight lag.
  • Microsoft's Wireless Mouse M400: Excellent, love the silent scroll and the helpful button at the side to configure for Expose - All apps and the scroll wheel for Expose Desktop.
  • Fellowes mousepad: Classic. Nuff said.

Oh.. I also have a iPhone 4 dock if that counts.

'06 Mac mini and 46" Sony Bravia RPLCD: 1.66GHz Core Duo, 1GB RAM, 80GB HDD
'10 Dell mini 10v: 1.6GHz Atom, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD
'11 17" MacBook Pro: 2.3GHz Core i7, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD

Magic and Mighty Mouse, Apple Keyboards (2 and 3 battery), Apple Remotes (White and Aluminum), and a Seagate 1TB External HDD.

Oh! And a nice 5.1 Surround System connected to them all.

/offtopic: Hackintoshed the Dell eh? Hows it perform?

Surprisingly well actually. Everything works. Bluetooth, Airport, flashed the card as official Airport via Linux, didn't need to, but I prefer it being "vanilla", sound, ethernet, sleep, deep sleep, camera, etc, etc.

It's almost comparable to my '06 Mac mini as far as performance goes. I mean, spec-wise, it's almost identical, outside of the processor, and of course the Core Duo kills the Atom, but it definitely holds its own. I was actually using it as my main portable for awhile whilst I was stuck between machines. Great for on the go though!

It seems to run OS X better than it runs 7 Ultimate. :p

Probably the best $200 I ever spent.

What accessory did you use to display it on the Samsung?

Nice view !

Thanks! Strangely, I have one of the best views in the building, even though I am at the very bottom of the totem pole. People generally seem to prefer rooms without windows, and when they have a window, they move their work areas away from it. LOL.
