I have more than 5 applications that I use the most on my Mac, so I'll give you two lists - applications from Apple, and then third party applications. I've listed them in no particular order.

Apart from OS-X, Logic is pretty much THE reason I own a Mac. Fantastic DAW.
2. Google Chrome
Nice clean browser that can't be topped.
3. Steam
Do you like to play video games? Then you can't live without Steam.
4. Caffeine
Simple little plugin that does what it's made for. What more could you ask for?
5. Pages
I LOVE the flexibility that comes with Pages. You can design some beautiful documents with Pages.

What is so great about steam? I looked at their website and all it seems to be is a computer game store that has digital downloads. Can you please explain what the buzz is all about?
