Ignorance

Is it just me or is there some Ignorant pr**ks on this Forum? I mean if someone wants a macbook pro just to surf the net so be it, it's their choice.
Rant over,
Many thanks.

First of all, I agree with you; who cares which computer someone buys and what they do with it. However, you bringing up this point does just as much to continue the iFighting as the "Ignorant pr**ks" in the first place. So simmer down.

I'm not singling anyone out but would people please put a small description of the app when you put it on your list, it makes it a lot easier for people to discover new apps if they know what they are about, the point of this thread. I know they can just google the name, but I'm just trying to make it easier.

  1. Aperture - For speeding though shots
  2. CIV 5 - For relieveing boredom
  3. 1 Password - Essential in this day and age for generating and securing passwords.
  4. Pages - quick easy and sexy editor
  5. Dropbox? - gone off it a bit since the latest security lapse but still the best cloud option for me until iCloud.

1. OpenOffice (Free open source office, power point and spread sheet program)
2. Pixelmator (cheap PS style program)
3. DesktopMonitor (Temp, cpu, memory monitoring that is on your desktop screen as long as the app is opened.
4. Miro (for video)
5. Transmission (torrent)

  1. CoolBook
  2. HyperDock/TotalFinder. They sorta play off of each other so I'll list them as one.
  3. Google Chrome Canary
  4. VMWare Fusion
  5. iStat, the $20 one that shows in the menu bar. I really don't see the point of the widget one.

Sometimes people need to be put in there place.

TBH you need to be put in your place, and stop telling people how to spend their money. I doesn't affect you in any way.

Anyways
Aperture-photo editing
safari- browser
pages-great word replacement
keynote-great power point replacement
Alfred-replacement for spotlight

I would like to cross out Miro for video. It was a resource hog, I'm now back to VLC for video and Transmission for torrents.

Matlab R2011a/Mathematica
VM Fusion (Windows 7 to run Solidworks)
VLC
Office Suite 2011
Pandora One

Not in any order, really.
