for something that sucks you did do alot to get it to work tho.........
I'm a Youtube Premium subscriber and picture-in-picture does not work in the app. This sucks. It works in the Firefox app without Premium. Please fix at least for Premium, we pay for it.
Entering full screen mode can be done by swiping upwards on a video instead of having to tap the screen expansion icon at the bottom of the video, which makes it easier to get to full screen mode. A swipe down exits full screen mode and returns to the standard view.

You might want to edit that - you're literally telling me that I requested something that I did not request. Perhaps you meant someone else? FWIW, I have premium, and I don't care much about about PIP, because there's a variety of screens in the room I could run YouTube on instead. But they're not going to make it available (once/when it is), without a subscription.
Pay them money and all the ads go away like magic. You still get a few YouTubers shilling for Audible in the middle of their videos, but you can fast forward through that. I held off on subscribing for a long time (because, "after all, it's just YouTube"), but I'm happy I did - it's so much nicer with no ads. The tvOS app still sucks, but the service is quite useful.
i had to watch orientation videos from google and one was about the pursuit for gesture controls on camera. it was so terrible. no one wants that. like to open an email the gesture was full range motion miming opening a giant envelop.
Not at all. But in today's virtual learning environment, teachers often post supplemental learning materials on YouTube. If I block YouTube, my kids won't learn. If I don't block, there are many questionable materials that kids can watch by logging out. YouTube's adult content filtering is far from comprehensive, and many nude videos do not require logging in with adult credential at all.

Youtube if you by chance read this, please, it would be amazing amazing amazing amazing if you make it so can we zoom into the video right before the notch shows. MKBHDs videos are the perfect ratio so the notch doesn't show. If we can get all videos to be able to zoom in to MKBHD's ratio this that would be so great! I hate seeing the notch when going full screen and zooming in.
You literally asked for a feature that's available for premium through Safari but not through the app. They are not going to add a premium feature to the app for free but it would be a nice feature for those that pay. Thought it was safe to assume - sorry for that
How about letting people use SIWA instead of forcing a Google account, where it is easier to to track everything the person does?
These are all very welcomed changes. I especially like the swipe up to full screen and the enhanced touch control responsive features that will be coming. The youtube interface just feels so unpolished on iOS right now.

Why is it so hard to change the res to 1080p it should not need 2 clicks and it should allow us to always use highest setting
Out of interest, I wonder if there are any good concepts out there of the YouTube iOS app if it was designed completely with Apple's guidelines and design language instead of the messy iOS/Android hybrid we have now.
If you use it in moderation, stay away from politics/social issues and left/right political tubthumping idiots and stick to good creators on subjects that interest you, it has some value.
I have premium, worth it to me as a music sub alone wouldn’t be worth it to me. No ads + music = worth it to me.
That said, I agree with you in principle. YouTube is the closest I get to social media. I never comment. I’ve never used Twitter or FaceBook. I consider social media a curse, a “condition” which too many people suffer from.
This... I know it's a first world problem but why can't I just use the arrow keys to scrub through videos or use the key I've assigned as escape to get out of fullscreen?
Great. Now can they fix the utter mess that is “cast to tv”? The queue system is so broken it’s just frustrating to use.
