I haven't had a huge problem with playback being remembered. I will on some occasions have really old videos screw up though. Old as in not uploaded in the last few years so they are lower quality, and may have been processed differently. Can I take a bunch of videos and partially play them, having it remembering each video's playback position? Like any podcast player from the past decade?
I came here to see the same thing, so I’ll start:And absolutely nobody is talking about the privacy info here proving once again that nobody cares. All the comments are talking about dark mode and pip.
Youtube only supports PiP on android devices, but for the life of me, I can't figure out why that would be... 🤔Does it support PiP yet?
Maybe because Google owns android, and they want to give people a reason to use it, over other platforms.Youtube only supports PiP on android devices, but for the life of me, I can't figure out why that would be... 🤔
Yeah odd when it works on safariStill no user system dark mode FFS!!! 🤦♂️
Use Yewtu.be instead. No ads and no tracking.Typical POS Google. YouTube ads in 2 minutes into video and another at 5 min. tv channels have less ads.
Good move. If people want to watch YouTube videos, they should do so via the web browser and not logged into any YouTube account, in my opinion. A good add blocker should take care of the Google ads etc.Already deleted YouTube from my devices. Brave browser blocks their ads totally.
Does the one on your Apple TV show commercials? I have the ATV HD...shows ads. My brother has ATV 4K..no ads. Whats your experience?Yeah, it desperately needs updating. I prefer to use apps via my Apple TV rather than the built-in TV apps but YouTube makes this hard. It’s just terrible on the Apple TV. You can’t manage lists, add to playlists, and it’s really fiddly to just get to the like button. The one built in to my LG TV is vastly superior.
How do you get around the ads on ATV?Good move. If people want to watch YouTube videos, they should do so via the web browser and not logged into any YouTube account, in my opinion. A good add blocker should take care of the Google ads etc.
I was speaking of Mac or iOS. Outside of using a Raspberry Pie, I don't believe there is a way to block ads on Apple TV.How do you get around the ads on ATV?
Thanks...I was speaking of Mac or iOS. Outside of using a Raspberry Pie, I don't believe there is a way to block ads on Apple TV.
lol no that’s an awful experienceGood move. If people want to watch YouTube videos, they should do so via the web browser and not logged into any YouTube account, in my opinion. A good add blocker should take care of the Google ads etc.
Why is it awful? I see no ads, I am not tracked, and I can get any YouTube channel feed I want on my RSS app without subscribing.lol no that’s an awful experience
Honestly thought it was more like Sep 20, 2016 (around the last time the Netflix app feels like it was updated). The AppleTV version of the YouTube app hasn’t been updated since September 20, 2020.
You don’t get maximum resolution and FPS via the web browser. And it’s a web browser so none of the gestures work, and page navigation is obviously clunkier than the UI in the app.Why is it awful? I get 4k resolution on my Mac with the same use. I also get excellent resolution on my iPad Pro.You don’t get maximum resolution and FPS via the web browser. And it’s a web browser so none of the gestures work, and page navigation is obviously clunkier than the UI in the app.
like yeah yeah ads suck but safari YouTube is garbage
Lol we’re comparing the web interface with the app why are you bringing up a Mac. iPad Pro is just a blown up iPhone so it has the very same limitations there unless you use the desktop interface which isn’t designed for touchI get 4k resolution on my Mac with the same use. I also get excellent resolution on my iPad Pro.
