The iTouch 4 is super thin and sports 64GB....why not the new iPhone. I say it will have a 64GB option.

Um - as was said a million times, the iPhone only has one NAND Flash slot, whereas the Touch has 2. The iPhone would need 64 GB on a single chip, which is much more expension than two 32 GB chips and in much shorter supply.

Yep the space for the second NAND chip is occupied by the 3G radio chip.

For the general consumer i would assume 32GB is enough. Correct me if I'm wrong but most people don't use nearly that much and those who do will most likely try using iCloud.

If 32 GB is enough for the general consumer why does Apple even bother with the 64 GB iPod Touch?

You need a lot of space on an iPhone. It isn't just for music either. You have movies, apps, app data, photos, HD video.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A5274d Safari/7534.48.3)

While I agree that a 64GB would be great, and if even buy one just to know I had the space of I really needed it. I don't think it really, truly needed. If u can't get everything that u REALLY TRULY use, and listen to on your 32, then u are spending way to much time on a phone. Not trying to be an ass, but I have about 13.5GB left on my iPhone and have hundreds of pix, over a thousand songs, and alot of apps. Most of the apps are not used all that frequently either. But hey, like I said, if 64 was an option, I'd buy it lol./end speech

Put a 10GB iPhoto library on there, maybe 15GB of music, a 1.5GB GPS app, then let me start talking to you about digital magazines. I use my 64GB iPad for those, but I'm sure there are people who look at them on an iPhone. Some of the smaller ones are 256MB. GQ takes up more than 756MB.

I didn't even mention videos. What if I want to live in Apple's world of putting a bunch of movies on my iPhone and then using a friend or relative's AppleTV to play that movie instead of bringing a disc with me?

It's been two years since the 32GB iPhone was introduced. It's getting time for a 64GB model.

The argument that 32 GB is plenty of space could be applied to a smaller number. If you don't need to carry absolutely everything with you, why didn't apple just stick with the original 4 and 8 GB versions of the original iPhone?

Back in 2007 people on this board (myself included, so I guess I'm a hypocrite) were saying "8 GBs is plenty, you don't need to carry everything with you". We see how that turned out.
