im more frustrated that because I waited in line on Friday and got one, however it had problems so i went to the store, they had nothing to exchange it with so gave me a gift card so i can get one when the come in... F:(

The one I bought at launch had bad light bleed and I had it back in the box and at the Best Buy customer service counter the next day. I decided along with the BB mngr to hold on to it until new stock arrived to replace it.
Glad I did.
Using it right now.

Anyone at any IL stores? Skokie/Old Orchard Specifically. Spent my Friday there, left empty handed because the AT&T's all went overseas. Spent my Saturday there but they didn't get any, and supposedly haven't had any all week.

Any luck this morning? Their shipments come in between 9 and 10am which is when I'm getting back there tomorrow. Hopeful, but not optimistic..

Just sold my spot in line for $100. I was about 50 away from the door after about 45 minutes of waiting.

Hello free leather smart case!

just saw a tweet that said my mall in ann arbor isn't getting ipads today.

I'm tired of this game and am just going to bite the bullet and order online via apple store (i have gift cards). Hopefully they'll produce more I'll get it before the 4-5 week estimate.

I'm at the Apple store in Menlo park, Edison NJ, they have not received any iPads since launch day are expecting zero today also!

kenwood mall, cincinnati

Was there this morning at 7am and there was probably 40 people in line. They DID have a shipment. Seemed like a small one though. Missed getting one by about 5 people. They came out and pleaded with folks to only take one to save for people at the back of the line but I saw a few with two tickets.

Oh well...will try again later this week.

All these reports about the stores stocking up on them on Monday and then opening early on Tuesday turned out to be pretty far fetched. I mean it happened at like 1/10 stores (if even that many) and they only had a few it seems?

Well it was a rumor never confirmed by apple or anyone else. This was all speculation.

Somerset store in Troy, MI opened early but did not get a shipment and will not be getting any in today.

lol. that's 200 seriously unhappy peeps (soon to be)

Im just finding it odd that Apple had finally figured out an effective preorder/standby system last year with the iPad launch, but this year they're completely botching up everything. Would it really hurt them to allow customers to allow online pre-orders or even give the people who waited in line a voucher for the next shipment?

I already got my iPad but I do feel bad for those who've waited in line and came home empty. Buying from the Apple Store was supposed to be all about "the experience" but from what it seems then the experience sucks and Best Buy is doing a more effective job since they allow preorders.

They security just told is that Cerritos is opening at 9

REE-diculous that Menlo Park (Edison NJ) didn't have any, after telling us they would have it the day before. What a joke!!!

Maybe I'll go tomorrow, if I wake up early enough. For those that were lucky today, did you catch how many each store had of each model? At this point, I'd almost take anything. I ordered last week, and mine's not coming in for exactly one month from today!

Yeah, once the stores sold out of the iPhone 4 they took a waiting list where they would e-mail / call you once they have one for you. I would think doing this would be easier then having hundreds of people line up everyday and keep coming into the store asking questions. Maybe because the shipments are so limited they don't want to bother though?

Hello free leather smart case!

A fool and his money are soon parted.

When I called my local Apple Store last night, I was told that they would be "opening at 9am for iPads only".

So stores opening at 9am was not speculation. That there would actually be iPads available was speculation.

Was told again this morning (along with 40 people who were waiting on line) that they would once again be opening at 9am tomorrow.

Carousel Mall, Syracuse

I called my Apple Store in Syracuse, NY at 9:30am this morning and they were already sold out.* The salesperson I talked to wasn't sure if they would receive another shipment today. I specifically asked if a shipment arriving today would be held for sale tomorrow morning, and she indicated that they would be sold right away.

*These were iPad 2s that arrived late yesterday for sale today at 9am. My husband and I called the store three times yesterday, spoke with three different people, and got slightly different stories, although the general timeframe of availability was the same.

I unfortunately neglected to ask this morning's salesperson the quantity that they had available for sale this morning. My husband and I will check back later in the day as she suggested. Sigh.
