im really thinking about going else where...

Its sad but these AD all makes sense...
I hadall the iPhones from the first Gen, all the "S"s...

Now.. iPhone 6 just feels... Apple is trying to beta test us with like...

"Lets make a ****** product and see if people will still buy it... we know they will because its an "iPhone"... If people doesnt buy them? O well, we will give them the 7 instead of 6S next year :)"

seriously... iPhone 6 is more like Bigger iPhone 5s... 5s's A7 chip was fast enough, if you added more processing power, than give us multi window... same camera with better sensor? really...?

they should call it, iPhone 5s Plus & 5s Plus Plus.... not iPhone 6

Really? Looks like you were the only one who was that lucky. So you also didn't have the chinese voiceover? The music from the venue overlaid with a second music stream? The truck schedule title card with the color bars?

I think, for me, the stream failed about a hundred times within the first hour, then it got better. And no, hundred is no exaggeration. I hit the "Play" button, then I got 5 seconds of Tim Cook or Phil Schiller (with chinese translation), and then I got the Apple TV error screen. Hit the "Menu" button on the remote to go back. Play button again. 5 seconds of Schiller and Chinese Lady. Done again. Rinse and repeat.

Twice, the whole thing even crashed my Apple TV. So yes, these ads may not be funny, but Apple deserves it. And whoever was responsible for the stream should be fired.

Yeah, mine was mostly a crash and burn for the first half, then it more or less worked for the second half (basically when Tim Cook came back out).

Same issues: total stop, color bars, additional voice over narration. On the upside I can now speak some Chinese. :D

There are times when people claim some bad experience/performance/etc., and I’ll be the first person to question it if I’m experiencing something totally different, but this AFAIK, was a “global” meltdown.

I agree, I would have some person/people standing tall before the man over this.

Well the live feed was shambles; and the overall presentation was somewhat lack luster - maybe expectations were set too high by Apple e.g. "the biggest event since 25 Years" and "the Swiss will be scared for the iWatch" ... but nothing shown made me go like, yeah! thats the stuff I will get tomorrow ... too bad.

... btw people with petty responses to ads should lighten up

I don't understand people these days. We're too spoiled with technology that even something as amazing as what the mobile phone and the watch has become is now mundane to some. I'm not sure what people want these days from mobile technology. Did you want the phone to turn into a car or become a full laptop at the press of a button? ApplePay, the beautiful screens, TouchID, the improved camera, a beautiful watch (just gotta check the battery life when it comes out), etc. etc. are things we never heard of just 8 years ago.

Critics say "oh Apple is just catching up" or "That's so 2012". Well, no the guts of the phone are 2014 and iOS 8 looks very promising. The other manufacturers rush to get out the latest bell or whistle, but Apple usually is one of the few that does it right. Sure the iPhone just got NFC, but it's NFC done right. Now I don't know what happened to the live stream as I was one of those who waited till after the event (thanks to work >=P ) to watch the keynote. I thought it was a very good keynote and I loved it when Cook brought back the "There's one more thing..." line.

As for Samsung, insecurity breeds attack ads. Apple did the same thing with their ads mocking Windows. Back then Apple was insecure about their OS and the dominance of Windows hence their attack ads Macs vs. PCs. Samsung is Apple circa 2000. They make decent gadgets and they are/were the face of Android (hello Tizen). You can accuse them of a whiz bang mentality when it comes to their mobile gadgets, but there are times when these bells and whistles do become important features. So I applaud them for taking chances.

If I was Samsung, my next ad would be targeted at thin skinned Apple cultists just to see the meltdown over there.

Appleinsider has to be the most psychotic website I have ever encountered. Tim Cook makes like an innocuous remark about workplace diversity and a meltdown ensues.

Also the racism that inevitably ensues whenever "Lucy Koh" or "Samsung" is mentioned ...

Doesn't it just scream desperation that they have to release these IMMEDIATELY after Apple makes their announcement?

If Apple ever started doing crap like this, I'd be afraid they were going to go under.....

It would be like me, as a salesperson, throwing my co-worker under the bus to mask the fact that I can't sell.....just kinda sad.

Thats the thing.....

Apple Pay will take off and mobile contactless payments will become the norm. Those of us who prefer Apple (and those who are sane) will say - "Man, Apple really kickstarted this service". While the Android drones will yell "NO we had it FIRST".

So who gives a crap if you had a poor implementation first? No one used it. Same goes for the fingerprint sensor. Who even cared about the Atrix that had it.....it wasn't until TouchID that other companies started adding them to their devices. And now we have whole services and security built into various apps based on it.

First is not always (in fact rarely) best. Apple may be "slow" in some cases....but you can't deny that when they land something, they stick it. Apple Pay will be huge. The iPhone 6 and 6+ will be huge. The Apple Watch will be huge.

And Samsung knows all of this....they know that they can't compete (for whatever reason) and so they resort to trying to distract consumers by pointing out ultimately pointless comparisons.

Guess what Samsung, I was able to watch the keynote afterwards. They probably WISH they had streaming issues with their keynote because it means people actually watch it....

Guess what Samsung, I don't want a smartphone on my wrist. I want a watch that augments my experience with my smartphone and other devices.

Guess what Samsung, the 6 and 6+ still run iOS which is better than TouchWiz in the eyes of many. No crying about spec numbers if going to change that fact.

So. Incredibly. Clueless.

now, this is very well said. This is what the Samsung and android fans don't get.

Same for me on my iPad Air.

In fact, at one point, whether I used Safari, Chrome, or Mercury (running as OS X), my iPad rebooted.

It was REALLY frustrating and as much as I hate for people to lose their jobs, someone absolutely has to be fired over this. :(

Sadly your post will fall on deaf ears. Next year when (not if) nfc payments are the norm and not the exception, you will hear one or more of the following:

1) android had it first
2) it was a logical progression of the technology, apple did nothing special
Or 3) apple didn't invent nfc

It happens without fail and the fingerprint scanner you mentioned is the perfect example of it. I can't think of one thing that apple did first, but I can think of a ton apple did best.

That being said, some numbers were posted yesterday that show that nfc payments are in fact growing at a snail's pace around the world. We'll see an explosion of growth this coming year. That will be because of apple, no matter how much people want to deny it.

It's a well known fact that if you have to resort to attack ads, you've lost the battle. Apple's "I'm a PC" used humor to point out the superiority of Mac, and without insulting PC users. Samsung, in its many other commercials, insults those very customers it is trying to woo - Apple customers. Now, they are attacking Apple's live stream but most people in the world had no idea there was a stream or what a stream is.

Samsung is a victim of tunnel vision, thinking it should jump on every single Apple fault. Except, this time, they miscalculated because most consumers would not even know what they are talking about.

Today everyone on Android takes for granted visual voicemail, slide to unlock, pinch to zoom, swiping, and all sorts of things that Apple pioneered. Android users act like these things have been around for centuries and Apple didn't invent anything. When you ask them more pointed, fact-based questions, they get angry and start calling you names. Just like Samsung.

What I don't understand is that most of the people defending Samsung are Americans. Why would you support a Korean company that steals and does nothing for the planet over a US company that is bringing manufacturing back to the US and is one of our country's biggest success stories? People have an uncanny ability to do things against their own interests. It's amazing to me.

Is Samsung/Android dying? I could swear I've seen articles indicating that claim Android has overtaken iOS in terms of users. And don't Apple use Samsung for device components too?

I'm not an Apple fanboy, nor am I interested in Samsung or Android so I don't know all the details :).

I don't really think Samsung is dying. I was simply taking the kamikaze analogy to its logical conclusion. I do think the ads were desperate and self-destructive, though.

It's hilarious how personal people take these commercials.

Guarantee you no one will care in a week.

I think were all forgetting what Apple said years ago no one wanted a big screen phone ive seen a lot of you here mocked Samsung and others over their large screen phone,s now apple is making one and it seems like at least on these types of fanboy website that you all forgot and Apple is the first to make a large screen phone I will be getting the 6plus because it is something ive been waiting for for years but lets face it Apple is doing catch up here and its about time even if the specs are 2 years old the Galaxy note 4 is far advanced than the 6 in terms of specs. im sure the next iPhone will have all of the specs we see in the lg g3 or the note 4.
Specs are for nerds and most peeps don't give a fat rat's arse about them. Also, specs don't always translate to real world experience. I've used just about every leading Android device (HTC, LG & Samsung) and none of them has compared to the iPhone IMO and the opinion of countless others. The *only* compelling reason to use an Android device was a larger display and that is now a moot point. I'm currently using a Galaxy S5 and I can't wait to get a 5.5" iPhone 6. Icons look like shiznit on the S5 (and all Android) devices compared to icons on iPhones. Google "vector graphics" and you'll understand why. Apps are constantly updated because they regularly crash. Poor regulation of apps that are allowed on Play Store that hijack your phone. Camera takes way too long to actually take a picture. You can't shoot a quick video and text it to a friend without first uploading it to YouTube and sending them a link. Well, you can but it will be so degraded that it is barely watchable. The list goes on and on. .....but this phone sure has great specs! LOL

IMO there are so many Android phones out there because there are 20 of them for every iPhone at AT&T, Verizon etc. and the staff shoves them down the throat of everybody that walks in the front door. I'm a tech guy and I go to my local AT&T Store regularly to check out new devices. When I'm at the store I love observing the sales peeps and EVERY single time somebody talks about upgrading or buying a new phone they are immediately ushered over to the Android wall. The only people who are shown the iPhones are people that specifically request them. Every. Single. Time.

I'm not saying that Android devices are worthless. They get the job done and Android OS has come a long way but no company applies the same level of fit-and-finish and detail to their products (both hardware and software) than Apple does. It is evident in every single product they make.

It was REALLY frustrating and as much as I hate for people to lose their jobs, someone absolutely has to be fired over this. :(

Oh yeah, I wouldn’t casually put someone’s livelihood at risk, but I would definitely get my head around the issues for next time, and if there was any cases of complete professional neglect, heads would roll.

I totally get external circumstances: a CDN that promised to sustain the load didn’t, a contracted film crew cut in additional audio, etc., but it seems like there were misfires on multiple fronts.

I don’t know if you watched the WWDC event, but it was terrific, just a couple of tiny stutters, a tiny resolution variation here and there (as expected, and that could’ve been local network issues), but otherwise, excellent. I expected the same - heck, I even had the wife watch this time :D

Not to mention racist.

My post seems to have been deleted. Is that common around here? The offending post seems to have been removed as well.

I can't see anything bad about this. I found the ads funny. Anyway, Samsung made a point.

Exactly! Did you read your own post after posting it? "Apple mocked Windows back in the day".

Windows is a Microsoft product.

That doesn't give Samsung the open door to constantly attack Apple and let's be real about it, Apple attacked real problems the end user had with Windows and Windows is an OS that people use everyday. Apple never got petty and created ads when Microsoft's keynote streams weren't successful.

That's just childish and makes me further hate Samsung and not want to buy another product from them. They make fun of Apple's customers which is very insulting. Their ads are not persuasive to take Apple's customers. If anything, they are helping Apple get customers by putting so much focus on Apple with these inane ads.

Keep it classy Sammy, keep it classy.

Samsung is copying the "I'm A PC, I'm a Mac" campaign. But to make this work, you need two things: a killer service that isn't well-known, and a disgruntled community of users of your opponent's service. Apple fans are fiercely loyal, so you won't be winning them by mocking them or disparaging Apple.

First focus on making everyone see how good your stuff is. When Apple fans are revolting en-masse you may finally be able to mock Apple and get away with it. At this stage, you're just pissing them off.

If I personally went for another Android device, it'll be stock Google or Sony, or maybe even HTC. Samsung will not be getting money from me soon.

Now this is exactly my point. If Apple is catching up as u said, and the specs are not good... Then why u r buying the 6 plus? If the Note is better, then why wouldn't u buy it? Listen people, they are behind, buy they are the best. So do not give a crap being behind...
U know why they didn't upgrade Ram? Or camera? Or something else? Because they will do that with the 6s. And at that time Notes' will have have 10 RAM and 40 megapixels. But it wont matter. They will still sell more and they will be better. So, they are just ok being behind.
