iOS 8 Causing Widespread Bluetooth Connectivity Issues in Cars

Why..? My iPhone 4S is working perfectly with iOS 8.0.2. Only today I experienced a strange BT problem with my Audi RNS-E with FisCon: couldn't accept or disconnect a call. After turning BT off/on it was ok.
Why the constant 4S bashing with iOS 8? What is that all about? Seen it on multiple forums... Weird.
I've never had a moment's problem with my Alfa Romeo. Normal service is all that's necessary.
My Giulietta is working properly with an iPhone 5 with iOS 8.0.2. But my version has the RadioNav with Blue&Me instead of UConnect.
just wanted to add my related problem... I have a 2014 Honda Insight, does not have BlueTooth, but I connect my iPhone through USB... after updating to iOS8 it would connect to my car but i was not able to control the iPhone - would not start playing automatically and could nto skip tracks. I reset Network Settings which fixed the issue, until I rejoined my home WiFi Network.... then I reset Network Settings again, and joined my WiFi network, and now it has continued to work for the past week.
However, Last night I received a call while connected to my car, which i Answered, and then upon plugging back in, it stopped working again. Powering off my Iphone and starting it again fixed it this time, so all is well again for now...
i do keep bluetooth turned ON, but i do use it for anything or have any devices synced...
it seems to me this blutooth issue may be related to my USB issue

I've ben dealing with this issue all last night and today.
I got the 6 the day it was released. Didn't do the buggy 8.01 update but did the 8.02 update.
All seemed to be fine until yesterday when I noticed Siri couldn't hear me nor could I dictate texts or emails. The microphone wasn't picking up my voice or any sounds....the wavy line doesn't move at all. The speakerphone seemed to still work though. I called Apple and they had me restore back to new and that didn't fix it. I even tried restoring from backup a few days old and still nothing.
Today I get in my car to go to the Apple Store and the bluetooth doesn't kick in automatically. I repaired and it held for 30 seconds or so and then dropped. the phone says it is still connected to bluetooth but the Bluetooth icon on the cars screen is gone like it is not active. Also incoming calls do not turn off music in car, they just go straight to phone and you have to manually change from car audio to iphone control of the call from the audio button.
Apple Store told me to come back tomorrow for scheduled time to probably swap out the phone.
Later this afternoon I was making speakerphone calls and had people tell me that they completely lost me, thinking I had muted the phone. I had to take it off speakerphone so they could hear me.
Hopefully this gets fixed tomorrow. Not really happy about the buggy rollout. I understand it happens but definitely an inconvenience and seemingly happening a little to often for Apples standards.

No problems iPhone 6 with 2014 Explorer. (and Ford Sync is worthless for usability!)

Thankfully I haven't had much issue with iOS 8, other than slow wifi on 8.0, buy there is still no denying there have been many issues with the rollout of iOS 8 and many bugs.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, for iOS 9 I think Apple should take the 10.6 Snow Leopard route.
Instead of adding a bunch of new features or changing the design again, iOS 9 needs to just be a major maintenance release, focusing only on improving stability, security, speed, memory footprint, etc.. under the hood.

Acura TSX has no problems either. Hondas all use the same bluetooth and radio for their non-tech stuff.
I fixed mine.
Unpaired the phone from the head unit
Went into iCloud settings and turned off "Find my iPhone", put in the password to confirm when asked.
Repaired the phone to the head unit - tested calling and it then worked fine.
Turned find my iPhone back on again and it all still works and has done for the last few days.
Someone said it was to do with how the phone is now looking for other devices to let you answer the call on, ie ipads, macs, etc etc and screws up the handover to the head unit.

If you check the OS X subforum you'll see that multiple users trying out the GM have been killed by exploding Macs. Good luck everyone.
I've used bluetooth in my car just about every day. Never had one problem with connecting or playback failing since upgrading to iOS 8.
So much for general discussion. So many fanboys on here. I love Windows for my gaming machine and I love OS X for my everyday work/browsing/normal stuff machine.

Today's headline in Who The F _ _ _ cares department? Huge PITA to have the annunciator go "Call Ended" every goddam time a bird flies by. I'm not paired, who needs it?
Ya but notice zero issues with BMW, Mercedes or Porsche, the sorts of cars they get to drive by convincing people to buy stuff at such margin. Ain't no toyotas nor fords at apple inc.
Problems with my Kia
I was unable to connect via bluetooth to my Kia Optima. After several tries with turning Blue tooth off and on it doesn't recognize the radio system at all. Can wait for the bug fix.

Blimey, I had Bluetooth sync issues with my iPhone 3GS and car back in the day! Every time Apple updated iOS it would break the Bluetooth sync, and car manufacturers had to release firmware updates to make it work again, if you ask me I had a suspicion Apples Bluetooth stack wasn't playing nice with set standards, seeing as no other devices had any issues.
So if iOS 8.1 doesn't fix it, I guess you'll have to wait for your car maker to update its software, or buy a new car.

My Mercedes says "No Service" and call audio does not come through at all. As the article says, I have to switch away from the bluetooth connection to the iPhone via the Audio button.
