Kia dropping connection

My 2013 Kia Sorento LX, is dropping my Bluetooth connection since I've updated my iPhone 4s to iOS 8.0.2. It seems to drop out when I receive a call, then I have to toggle audio source on the phone. Lots of problems with the Bluetooth.

No issues here with my Beemer.

I've had some intermittant issues withbluetooth since iphone 6. Wouldn't keep phone paired yesterday. Happened Sunday as well with flashing BT indicator in car. I have a BMW as well

The stereo in my E30 doesn't work, so I don't have to worry about it :p

That & I haven't bothered to update any of my 4 iDevices  !

Syncing Issue!

Notice no one is talking about the inability to sync ripped music and videos from iTunes to iOS 8.0.2 devices?

iOS8.1b1 fixed my BT issues. Everything works just as I'd expect it to.

I did have some issues in iOS8.0 and 8.02 that my Ford Sync would ring through the stereo when a call came in but when I would answer the call via the steering wheel button the audio would not transfer to the car via Bluetooth, it would stay on the iPhone.

When I first plugged in my 6+ to my Nissan Juke NISMO music started playing. And I couldn't shut it off. I turned off the radio but the music STILL PLAYED! I could not stop the music playing from my iPhone. I had to unplug the iPhone, stop my car and turn it off and on, and reboot the iPhone. That's the only time it happened. Bluetooth pairing has been flawless. I get texts and make and receive calls thru the car no problem.

I really think a lot of these issues stem from folks restoring their new phone from a previous phones backup. Any file corruption is transferred to the new phone.

I have a 2013 Honda Accord Sport with Siri hands free and have found that the iPhone 6 plus takes a long time to pair if at all. I have also notice I can't activate Siri half of the time. Please note that there was no issue before the update.

I had this issue and seems to be resolved with 8.1b1, however I have very low volume, about 1/16 of what it was for iOS 7.1.2 and BT connectivity. I have to turn it up to about 80% just to get it to a hearable volume while driving with myFord Touch Sync.

This is also the same with my BT connection on my harley also.

I had connection problem with my iPhone 5s (iOS7) to my car. I would sometimes lost the connection during a phone call. Have not yet seen this problem with my iPhone 6 (iOS8).

Ran into this when I got my launch day iPhone 6.. here was the fix I did..

Well, great news I have come across a fix, and I will share it here incase anyone runs into a similar issues.

Apple Discussion:

Fix:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

That did not work for me, or doing a complete restore and reload. Same issues.
Both mine and my wife's 5s. 2012 Chevy Cruze.

Yet another bug? How buggy is this release?

So, we had/have:

- Cellular killer
- Touch ID killer
- iCloud Drive wiper
- Photo wiper

And now the Bluetooth killer. I can't wait to see what bugs 8.1 will bring.

Apple is lost without Steve Jobs.

As a huge Apple fan, I have to say this is the worst roll-out of products and services in the company's history. And right when they needed to blow the world away...

Bluetooth has been garbage since I can recall first using it, and wrote an engineering report at University in 2004 about it.

Change the operating system and Bluetooth all of a sudden literally can't even..

Edit: No issues on Bluetooth connectivity on my 6 Plus with a 2014 Volvo, nor rMBP, or Beats Wireless.

Driving me crazy

I drive a 2012 Mazda 3 MPS (Mazda Speed 3) in some markets and the iPhone 6 connects via bluetooth to the car no worries for playing music and thats it. I set the phone up as a new iPhone when I first got it rather than setting it up from a previous iPhone. I've tried un-pairing the phone, re pairing the phone, turning off iCloud, turning off and then on bluetooth, switching to airplane mode, then back to normal, I've tried reset network settings, reset all settings, hard boot of the phone and pretty much everything else. I've called Apple 4 times and been to the Apple Store. At first I was told there was nothing wrong with the phone and that Mazda need to do an upgrade to the bluetooth firmware in the car. I called my Mazda mechanic as well as Mazda Australia customer service and they advised that information was incorrect and that they had a large number of customers who have purchased iPhone 6's and 6+'s and they are all facing the same issue.
I have raised a job with Apple and so far nothing. I appreciate it takes time to find solutions to problems like these, but as an Apple fan, I have to admit I am very disappointed with Apple for releasing a product that is not working correctly. I am now at the point where I think my new iPhone 6 may need to be returned and replaced with a Samsung. I hope they fix this soon. Nothing like owning a nice new shiny $1000 iPod for the car.

I'm having the same exact issue as the pull quote in the article. iPhone won't connect to the car (Audi Q5). Well it CONNECTS... But doesn't patch the audio through during a call. Pretty frustrating. I know most of us defend apple a LOT but it's getting tough lately. iOS is really incredible when it's running correctly but it needs to be tested properly prior to release. The public should not be forced to beta test.

Dude! I noticed almost all of my music will not sync! They CANT be serious??

iPhone 6+ have problem in Wifi / Cellular Data , problems as well .. restart whole phone or switch "airplane mode"

I don't understand this bitching about Bluetooth stability. Obviously it's people that use unlicenced third party accessories with their iPhones. I never had problems with that, but my wife destroyed her new car when she entered it with her Samdung phone. And my dad's appartment was burnt down when he turned on his Windoze machine.

Just buy Apple's accessories and you'll be happy. For example the iCar.

Lol. This has been said about pretty much every iOS release to date.

No connectivity issued between my Space Grey iPhone 6+ and my SpaceX Dragon V2 "Limited Edition".

I didn't even realize it was an iOS 8 issue, but trying to get bluetooth to work nearly caused an accident. I tried to play music through the car's bluetooth audio support and no sound was coming out for a while, then it started blaring at max volume and scared the crap out of us.

6+ 64 Gb here and a 2013 Mazda CX-5.

Phone will pair with the car, it rings through the car speakers for an incoming call, but it won't direct the audio through the car speakers, nor does it cut out the radio audio.

If I place a call from the car, same behaviour, radio does not cut out and phone call audio goes to the phone speaker.

Be glad they're fixing it, to the point that it's already fixed in 8.1 which doesn't look long off.

Android users will no doubt scoff at this news article, but actually that was one of the first regrets I had when I switched to a HTC phone a few years ago - bluetooth was very broken in Android 4.0 (media profile would disconnect after a few seconds on my Sony head unit), it was finally fixed in vanilla 4.1 a while later but HTC took about a year ON TOP of that to bring out their own version of 4.1 then it was broken differently in that!

At least they can continue with the "we had this 4 years ago" campaign :p

Not with my 2013 VW... both the old 4s and new 6 connected, pairing is brain dead easy with VW
