very well could, there was also a band-swap thread forming somewhere around here.

I suggested it earlier in this thread and a couple have popped up. However with the current overload activity since yesterday and the :apple:Watch not available for 6 weeks it is WAY too early to expect a swap thread to be relevant.

the watch comes with TWO bands of different sizes??

I was looking on the apple website and if you go to store and check the bands, you'll see that they come with 2 size bands: one seal-medium and one medium-large.

isn't that kind of a waste?? I mean its nice of apple to give us to..but id rather they made it less expensive and only send us one

Why does the ss Apple Watch with a white or black sports band only come with one band, according to the "what's is the box" info? Even if you buy a sports band separately it come with two. Seems like an oversight just with the description.

That tells us how inexpensive it really is to make these bands... that they sell for $49 ;)

The sport band is two pieces - the bit with the holes that goes into one end of the watch and one with the fastener/clasp piece which goes into the other end of the watch.

When Apple say it comes with two bands, do they not mean it comes with one fastener end, a S/M piece with holes and a M/L piece with holes?

I've seen this done in the past with watch straps and also note how in pretty much every photo the size is only marked on the piece with holes, the fastener piece always only has the size - 38 or 32.

Doubt it. It looks like they are referring to the actual size of the bands and you get one of each size. The classic buckle is 2 pieces but referred to as one band. It's probably easier to package them together for stocking reasons or something. There are probably quite a few people that will luck out and fall in a range where both bands fit. http://store.apple.com/Catalog/regional/amr/pdf/static/pdf/content/Watch_Sizing_Guide.pdf

Edit: I misunderstood your original post and it does indeed seem you are correct.

I think this will be what they do. 3 pieces total. 1 with the pin and 2 with the holes s/m and m/l. Otherwise many people wouldn't need to buy another sport band from apple. They would just trade them out with others.

I think you're right!

It'll still come with S/M and M/L pieces. "Band" is just a general description for the SS collection as a whole as most models will come with just one band.

Understand ... so the Modern Buckle comes with three pieces ... S, M and L? But the store lets you choose which size you get ... so still a little confusing.

Yeah, you have to select a specific size when it comes to the more expensive straps. Rubber straps cost next to nothing to make so that's why they're including both sizes, to streamline the inventories.

Nice find. No extra strap to trade, we should've known. :(

Top left: "Includes 2 bands. One S/M and one M/L"

If the fastener needed to be two different sizes, it'd have S/M or M/L stamped on it. It doesn't and only has 38mm or 42mm stamped on it, indicating that it includes one fastener and 2 band pieces (one S/M and one M/L).

Of course, this could be wrong and we'll get two complete sets of bands. I can see this going either way as rubber bands cost next to nothing to make.
