When the Mac mini came out, I immediately turned to my wife and said "I have to have one."
When the MacBooks came out, I immediately turned to my wife and said "I have to have one."
When the iPhone came out, I immediately turned to my wife and said "I have to have one."
When the iPad came out, I immediately turned to my wife and said, "Um... wanna get a Kindle?"
Seriously? What makes this any better than carrying round a MacBook or Air? You'll still need to put it in a bag...with a damn good case to stop that screen getting killed...and you won't have access to ALL of your files.
Tablet was never a win IMO
I agree. People are complaining, and yet this is what a table computer does. I think people are more disappointed that Apple's not reinventing something so much as simply taking an existing idea and making it really, really nice. Shut up and stop whining.
I'm not saying I'm going to buy it; I have no use for it, and it does look like an oversize Touch - but what did you expect? Tablet computer w/ a touchscreen = an oversized Touch. You can't separate them. And yeah, the name is dumb, but so is iPhone.. How many complained about that when it was released that have one now and love it? It's what Apple does.
Whipping up a Keynote preso on a feather-light, 10-hour-battery-life finger-driven tablet? Hells yeah!
Netbooks are a dead end. That's why I'm sitting here in a parking lot following the announcement on my netbook, suddenly very happy I didn't wait for Apple's attempt to fill the niche.
There's nothing at all wrong with a gigantic iPod touch. For whatever reason though, most people were expecting it to be more than a gigantic iPod touch. I blame the blogs for creating unnecessary hype.![]()
Wow! these guys really know how to drag out a presentation! Just tell how much it costs?
Were you really expecting that from a 10" tablet? Or are you just being nit-picky?
What kind of Application are them doctors going to use? Something they find on the App-store?
This is not a business-device!
Still waiting for the price.
How much novels have you read with coloured text?
