No front facing camera?

Wow. Forget this.

Maybe next revision. I am not buying this without something for iChat. I can't believe they didn't do this.

Ibooks on LCD ? HAHAHAHAHHAHA LMFAO

I was waiting for this all this time.... tsk tsk tsk

This is the day I buy a kindle or a nook..... I don't menstruate...so no need for a Ipad....

bah!

FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL

Most posters here don't like the iPad?

HOW SHOCKING! I can't believe it!

Seriously, what's wrong with a big iPod Touch? The future for this (if there is one) is eBooks/magazines/news papers. It remains to be seen if there is a market for this, but what I can tell you is that right now it is too soon to tell.

I agree. People are complaining, and yet this is what a tablet computer does. I think people are more disappointed that Apple's not reinventing something so much as simply taking an existing idea and making it really, really nice. Shut up and stop whining.

I'm not saying I'm going to buy it; I have no use for it, and it does look like an oversize Touch - but what did you expect? Tablet computer w/ a touchscreen = an oversized Touch. You can't separate them. And yeah, the name is dumb, but so is iPhone.. How many complained about that when it was released that have one now and love it? It's what Apple does.

iWork looks slick but the input mechanism is the issue for me. How do you type on this thing? Lay it flat? Hold it in one hand? Both hands? Same issue with movies ...hold it up in front of you?

How about doing what I'm doing now? Laying on the couch typing on a forum? I can't see ... yet ... how to do it on the Pad

Well this is just another horse, far from a Fordian car. Huge disappointment. And why need a new name and a huge media event for a new ipod?

This thing is awesome, and the keynote isn't even over yet! Why is this such a huge disappointment for everyone? Everything from an iPhone, PLUS iWork, PLUS ebooks, all in a beautiful package with a huge screen...I don't understand you people.

This is macrumors. The thing could be plated in gold, do everything including taking out your garbage and making you coffee in the morning and come free in every cereal box and people would still b*tch about it.

Think 3rd party add-ons. Bluetooth keyboards and mice as Bluetooth is built-in.

If the price is right then I'm most certainly interested. However, perhaps my hopes of this being sub-£400 are unrealistic.

Exactly, there is a reason why we haven't reinvented the wheel in thousands of years, it ****ing works.

I would still take the Macbook Air over this, but I guess now that they've released the iPad, the price of the Air won't come down. Dammit!

I wonder if Steve realized the irony of calling netbooks too underpowered to fill this niche, and then announcing a device that was even more underpowered.
