Doesn't the network check the IMEI number of the connecting phone ? So they'd know it wasn't the iPhone connecting ?
No idea. If so, I guess that ruins peoples idea of cutting the sim card to make it fit the iPad (the extra size is just plastic).
My mums sisters, aunt's cat's boyfriends goat told me it will be 6pm tonight and he knows everything.... On a more serious note, rumours are just rumours and I'm taking it as hearsay untill it comes out of the mouths of apple!!

It's a US event and given the short notice of invites I doubt many from outside of the US will attend, it's possible but I wouldn't bet on it.
I would genuinely find it rude of Apple if they had the cheek to move onto an entirely different product without even telling us the price of "the most important thing" Steve Jobs "has ever done."

I was there and I saw a kid with a 3G iPad (it had the black band on top) come out from the back room and put it inside a case after a bit.
according to a staff member he was steve's granddson giving his macbook in for repair
approx. 15 if it makes a difference
all according to the staff member - believe them or not
but I saw the iPad anyway

somewhat offtopic but selling/giving away the ipod is more appropriate than keeping it and doing nothing with it

also obviously my prediction of both models on april 3rd was my interpretation of some news
there's nothing in it for anybody to lie and say that you saw an iPad at a store or paraphrase what an employee told me
