I'd do the same but I'm worried because the Wrapsol doesn't cover everything

I'm just going to get a neoprene incase bag for it when I go out with it. I have another macbook I'm going to use for classes and whatnot so I'm not too worried.

If you were bringing this Macbook to class, would you still get Wrapsol?

Yeah. I'm sure I'll bring it to class sometimes, it's just I have all my files on this one currently and it still runs fine (despite being dropped various times) so why not keep using it I suppose. I just want a MBP so I can play some games on it while having OSX for the times I'm not (so not sure if I should get the 15' or the 17' atm)

Just bought an invisible shield for my macbook pro 15 inch and I'm a little confused with some of the pieces. I have the palm rest, the top of the lcd, and the bottom of the mbp on, but there are 2 strangely shaped pieces that don't look like they fit anywhere.

I see where the 2 small 2 inch long rectangles go, and there is 1 long rectangle that goes on the black plastic on the lcd, but how are those other 2 long rectangular pieces (1 has a hole on 1 side and the other one has cut out pieces on both sides) supposed to fit? From the instructions, they appear to apply them both on the same side (the front). Are the supposed to be on top of each other?

I feel like Zagg has almost sent me the wrong product because they really dont look like they belong on a mbp.

Anybody have any suggestions?

cheers,
Dan

I would take it to BestBuy and let them install it. Only costs around $40 and they do a great job. At least the guy who did my MBP.

I put the full body shield on my new 17" MBP. It was a nerve wracking experience. The second I peeled the bottom shield from the paper, it rolled up and stuck to itself like saran wrap. I was sure it was toast. It took me 10 minutes to wrangle it apart. Finally, after a ton of sprays form the adhesive liquid, I was able to lay it on the MBP. This is where the nervousness started. I had liquid dripping all over the case of my MBP - no fun and I was sure it would get in my case and short everything out.

In the end, I put the top, bottom, and palm guard on successfully. It's GREAT. Very grippy and I don't get shocked every time I touch my MBP.

I love it but would have a hard time recommending it due to the ridiculously tricky installation process. It's a nightmare.

Pics: it's a little shiny but I don't care. I know my MBP is protected and won't slip out of my hands.

That looks great! I actually like the shiny glossy look on mine. Plus its a great feeling knowing you are protected from scratches. But to each their own...

I don't know how I missed it, but the pieces fit together at the middle of the front and they wrap around the sides. Fits pretty well I guess, but I would have liked 1 solid piece all the way around instead. No worries tho, I am happy overall.

i cant decide which one to buy, i like the looks of the wrapsol but i have an invisibleshield full body on my blackberry and it looks nice but it atracts to much dust! btw i was looking for the wrapsol on amazon, the link above that it cost around 25dlls is for the new models?

get the wrapsol - it's great, I have it on mine. I'll post pics tomorrow if I remember - no shine at all. The color is a bit lighter than before, but it isn't noticeable (except on palm rest) since most if it is covered.

And I asked support, and you still can get lifetime replacements even if you purchased it on amazon. Ignore the 1-star review, it's just someone who couldn't manage to put it on.

I'd like to see those pics. Wrapsol's description of the version for the 17" says "current version" but it says "unibody" for the smaller one. But not having an older mbp 17", I'm not sure if there are any differences for this product.

Please dont forget to post pictures! Sounds like this is what Im looking for. I dont what bulky, heavy case and not particularly found of having a shiny bubble wrap either.
Thanks much in advance!

I'll try with a different camera later but I don't really know how to use the one I normally use except for automatic, but there's no way to have no flash with autofocus, so I can either get an out of focus picture or a really bright one.

edit: added pics

I watched wrapsol's demo video and realized that there is another strip that wraps around the sides too! Love it! Thank for an awesome suggestion, pictures and for a discount code!:)

Are they not a total pain to install?!

How about the excess liquid? Im little nervous that it might leak into the track pad.

It was a PITA, but its well worth it. As far as the excess liquid, I had a towel in one hand at all times and "squegeed" away from the trackpad when applying the palm rest piece. Took me about 45 min and came out just about as good as the one pictured, but it was my first time. I could have gotten it perfect but its not that big of a difference, like less than a 1/8".

Great. Being as paranoid and obsessed about my Mac as I am, this is all I need:) Im ready for the challenge to make it perfect! I will order it tonight. I will post my experience and proof.

Yeah it took me a good while too. I'm horrible at installing it so there are some bubbles. Oh well though.

actually, that's only for the MacBook Unibody 13" (not the MacBook Pro, but when it was called a MacBook, but I think it's the same thing). The MacBook Pro models have no side strips, only two small strips for the back corners.
