Updated to iOS18 overnight, took some photos earlier and just checked them and they are all 12MP even when the camera is set to 24MP, this is in excellent light. Seems to be a bug in iOS18
You would think one obvious way to differentiate the base and Pro series is to give the Pro a bigger camera sensor, bigger/better lenses, etc. Not just rely on mostly software/computational gimmicks to upsell.
Pure laziness to just give the base model the same camera/lenses as last year’s Pro...
Looking at what Apple presented to us, it looks like Apple took the same sized sensor and just made the sensor 48mp.
comparing the specs between the 15 Pro and the 16 Pro ultrawides: Both have 1.4um pixel size (quad-binned on the 16 pro), same f/2.2 aperture and same 13mm focal length.
Only...
Now that's kind of bummer because you won't be able to switch cameras if you are recording in 120fps. Or maybe if you switch to 5x zoom or ultrawide it will fall back to 60fps. But seriously Apple why? It does make the 120fps feature a lot less useful. Perhaps this is another feature reserved...
Well it’s coming to that time of year again when I promise myself that I’m definitely not upgrading my phone but I end up doing so every single year 🫠
The thing is though, my 1TB 15 Pro Max is actually running out of space. It’s family photos and videos - I take a lot of the kids.
I pay for...
My iPhone 11 Pro’s camera freezes from time to time. I tried restarting the phone or recovering it in iTunes. The latter helped but just for a short while. I have also this thing when my iPhone restarts without an end. It shows an Apple logo then turns off and it can last for 8 or more hours. It...
The new iPad Pro got rid of the Ultra wide camera. This is kind of disappointing, especially because they raised the price AND didn't do anything to the other camera. They could have at least given us a better main camera to make up for it!
Edit: They also removed mmWave 5G. Again, kind of...
Good morning all, happy to be here and looking for some input on indoor security cameras. I'm drawn to Homekit for security purposes but concerned about the how it might limit the functionality of the cameras. Two cameras would be the only Homekit enabled devices used.
I recently tried the...
I have seen throughout the years that my early photos have started disappearing and it has gotten to such a point that I know I had a photo of something, but I look back and it’s gone (I also see blacked-out corrupted photos) but not only is it gone, other photos are obviously gone. The idea...
Hi everyone.
I have a new iPhone 15 Pro and when recording with Ultra Wide (0.5) the video flickers black on the right corner/side. Is this normal behavior or my camera is defective?
The issue (as far as I tested) cannot be reproduced in horizontal mode, only vertical.
Here's an example:
My iPhone 12 is laggy while opening the camera. Today, when I had podcast app turned on, I wanted to take a photo. iPhone was having a problem with opening camera app! It lasted like 10 seconds and after that the process of taking photos was laggy, when I wanted to go back to menu, there was a...
I look at a white surface(White walls or white paper)with my iPhone 15pro 1X camera lens, I can see a green tint in the center of the image.
If I back away from the surface the green tint goes away or becomes less visible, its when you are closer to the target that you see it most.

Hello,
is it normal that the photos take 3 seconds to sharpen?
If it shot a photo and immediately go to the gallery the photo takes about seconds to be sharp and clear.
The time before its blurry and unsharp.
Is this a normal behauvior?
After the 3 seconds the photo stays sharp and clear.

(issue observed under iOS 17.1.1 and 17.1.2)
The first few times it happened, I just figured it was something I had done, like an accidental swipe. However, I was driving with the phone on a MagSafe charger and there was nothing near any of the buttons or screen. Suddenly my...
Greetings.
So I have a lot of video conferencing in Skype and Microsoft Teams, like many hours a day. I had 27'' 2017 iMac for six years and never had a single camera issue. In any OS from Sierra to latest it could run, which was Ventura. Recently I got new M2 Max Mac Studio which now runs...
I am finishing up building my new home in a rural remote area in Ireland although I do spend quite a bit of time away for work at my other home in London and therefore I am pretty concerned regarding security when I am not there. Therefore as an Apple fan boy I have decided to setup HomeKit...
My iPhone 12 mini main camera has started to blur photos. When trying to take a photo, I sometimes hear a faint buzz, and I can see the camera continually focussing/defocussing.
A local iPhone repair shop say they can fix it, but when I asked if they'd replace it with a genuine Apple camera...
Hi All, noticed on my 15 Pro there seems to be two flecks under the top left camera lens or imperfection in the glass. Anybody else? Seems like its been an issue for the last few years. I received my phone on 10/10 so I am out of the 14 day return. I would also be out of a pricey screen...
I'm looking for any iPhone case that surrounds the lenses on the camera module but also covers the bump and is not raised any higher than the rest of the phone case. Basically like the picture shown below, flush with the camera lens module.
Apple's product page only mentions Auto Image Stabilization. I attempted to take a few pictures while simulating hand tremors with the phone. The stabilization isn't as effective as that of the rear camera. Is this to be expected? Could it be due to the size of the front camera and the range of...
