Wow, now my Avs Forsberg jersey is two teams out of date, not just one. He's still my favorite player, though I wish he could have ended up being an Av for life, like (hopefully) Sakic will.

It ought to spur some interest in the Preds at least.

Ugh...Sabres lose Afinogenov for six weeks, and Novotony for an undetermined time after re-aggravating an ankle problem.

Tough break for the Sabres (no pun intended). This will definitely test the character of this team. If anything you would get Afinogenov back right before the start of the playoffs.

Fortunately they've got a nice cushion in place...this will give some of the Rochester guys an opportunity to roll with the big club and get some valuable experience. That will only help the Sabres down the road in the case of new injuries and for the future.

Nothing like getting the Rookies up there to give them some experience. It's even better for them considering you're 1st in the conference and you can treat every game as a playoff game. Mental and physical prep, can't go wrong with that.

A nice cushion in the division, not soo much in the conference. Never underestimate those pesky Devils.

All I know is that the Isles are 5 pts from the 4th seed. Now presently occupied by Pittsburgh. Monday will be fun.

Argh...now the Sabres lose Kotalik indefinitely to an MCL injury. They're dropping like flies.

Tough game against the Bruins last night. Went to a shootout, and nobody scored until Tenkrat put one home in the bottom of the eighth round. We'll take the point though.

I am a little late with this post....

Isles end the Pens 16 game point streak! I was there, simply amazing.

In a related news, Ryan Malone became the first player in NHL history to score in the opening minute of all 3 periods.

It just keeps getting worse...Paille out 2-3 weeks with a broken finger. Only one of their four forward lines is currently intact.

Fortunately the Sabres are finding ways to keep on rolling...seven wins in their last nine games.

I have never seen so many injuries to one team and still they find a way to win. That's the true character of a champion.

Preds v Sabres - Cup Finals

They had a practice run at it last year, so I'd hope they'd have figured it out by now.

It'll be interesting to see if they finally cave and trade Biron to get another healthy and experienced front-line body or two. The call-ups are playing well so far, but it would nice to have some more experience on hand for the stretch run.

Lol i think Wangs Lighthouse idea will be built first before you guys win another cup... ;)

Probably right about that. The Lighthouse thing is a great idea. The Coliseum and the surrounding areas will get a much needed face lift.

The day I see a Cup is the day I can die in peace.

Da Blues are 6-3 in last 9 games, beating powerhouses of Detroit and Nashville, and the 3 that were lost were by 1 goal each [one in OT]... yes!!! Now, pls don't this post be a jinx. Just so damn tickled that this team is jelling. But wonder if would be better to suck a bit, if not going to get decent run in the playoffs to better the draft pick spot? Yet,,, hot damn, its so nice to see this team win!!!

:)

the idea is great, that area definitely needs to be cleaned up. But the tallest structure on long island... eh.... I think that claim should be at Splish Splash, cause Cliff Diver isn't freaky enough looking over the LIE and Tanger outlets:p

Ahhhh Splish Splash. How I love thee, even though it is ridiculously expensive.

So how about Shanny going on IR? You're season's over.

plenty of interest in the preds! sure, there isn't a packed house at every game but the preds have a large fan base! and they are absolutely cup contenders.

speaking of forsberg, i got to see him play monday night against pheonix. unfortunately they hadn't had much time to practice with him, but they will work out all the kinks. that game was awesome, though. first score on the board was a penalty shot. and then scott hartnell scored twice, 23 seconds apart (a franchise record!), both breakaway goals.

oh but the rangers. poor poor shanny. first he gets some teeth knocked out and then gets his bell rung the same day he has surgery for said teeth injury. i hope he gets back in the game soon.

Where's WildCowboy to comment on that wild Sabres/Senators game? Those fights were absolutely crazy!!

I'm here...just finished reading the recap. Wow. I'll have to check out SportsCenter to get some highlights. And of course, Drury is out for a few games now after that hit. 100 minutes worth of penalties from that fight that involved everyone on the ice, and both goalies were ejected.

But the Sabres won...that's what counts. Especially against the Sens.

Surprisingly the highlights are on ESPNEWS. I'm sure it's on YouTube by now too. The Drury hit was boderline. The blood came from when he hit his head on the ice, ouch. Biron got killed by Emery and then one of your Sabres came in and beat Emery. Absolutely fantastic!

I kind of miss that smash mouth hockey. It brought a tear to my eye.

Nice to see that your Rookies are doing quite well.
