Oh you missed Chris Simon's stick to face. I can't describe it, you have to watch it. We all saw it go in. They said it didn't cross the "invisible plane". WTF does that mean!!?!!!!?!?

I know the enitre puck has to cross the line, but they were say something about the invisible plane.... still trying to figure it out. If you have ESPNEWS, watch it.

i watched the islanders/rangers game online through comcast. i didn't hear anything about the invisible plane, but they kept talking about the angle of the puck? the way it was angled made it look like it was over but it really wasn't, etc. (their words, not mine). the first few times that they played it over and over, it definitely didn't look like it was fully in. but the angle where they kept talking about 'the angle of the puck' it did look like it was in (hey i'm a rangers fan and i'm saying that). toronto makes bad calls sometimes. this call was in our favor so i obviously care less than if it had been against us. but toronto waved off a goal in game 6 of the calgary vs tampa bay playoffs and it caused calgary to lose the stanley cup -- yes i'm still bitter.

Time for a thread revival as we hit the homestretch.

Sabres still looking good, opening up a seven point lead over the Devils for the #1 seed in the East with nine games to play. Kotalik, Afinogenov, Gaustad and Connolly all still on IR, but we shoud get some of them back for the playoffs. The new guys who stepped in for them have filled their skates well, particularly Stafford and MacArthur.

The battle for the last few playoff spots in the East is wide open...it'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.

The West could still see some shuffling in the seeds, but the playoff qualifiers are separating themselves from the rest of the pack, with seven teams with at least 93 points. Colorado and Calgary look to be fighting over the last spot there.

***Clear*** BaDum, BaDum ***We've Got A Pulse***

The west is pretty much wrapped, except (as WildCowboy said) just shuffling of teams for seeding.

The east is far from locked and will most likely be decided on the last day of the season.

My Islanders decided to stop winning or should I say Mike Dunham forgot how to play goalie. Which goes to show you, we are nothing without Rick DiPietro. We're 1 point out of 8th, and 4 points behind the Rangers. grrr.

I figure the Isles need to win at least 7 of their last 10 to secure a playoff spot.

Big game tonight against the hot Penguins (Which I am attending!) who are 2 points behind the Devils for 1st.

So the bruins are done and well the Islanders... are playing like usual....and the rangers are acting like they care a little too late like always. The last few weeks of of the regular season should be exciting for the eastern conf.
BTW - i don't like your 'tar lol ;)

You're just jealous because we've won 4 Cups in a shorter amount of time than you did. (Oh yea we were a dynasty too) How can you not like Bossy holding the most glorious trophy in all sports?

Anyways, yea the Isles are the Isles. They could be done by the end of the week if they don't win. (OTL's aren't good enough, need wins). Lundqvist has been on fire lately and that's always good thing for your Rangers. If anything you'll probably play the Devils in the first around again. And we can all agree, nobody wants to see them in the playoffs.

The 4/5 looks like Ottawa and Penguins which will be an absolutely filthy serious. The East will be decided on the last day of the season with hopefully the Isles in the playoffs.

West has been done since January.

This is my favorite time of the year. March Madness, Playoff Hockey, Start of Baseball season. Great times. My other favorite time: Start of Football season, MLB Playoffs, Start of NHL season.

Lets Go Pens, Lets Go Pens, Lets Go Pens.... :D

The Pens ARE tied with the Devils right now...(we are a game ahead though...) For some reason, I keep thinking the Ducks are gonna win it all this year....the Ducks over Atlanta. Although, the Pens winning would be nice, but unrealistic to say the least. May the best team win :)

That's all I have to say right now. :D

The sad thing for my Leafs is that if they don't make the playoffs this year, they can actually look back at this current playoff push and pinpoint the exact time at which they messed up their entire season. Not many teams can say that.

Imagine: You're fighting for a spot in the playoffs, you're beating the Buffalo Sabres 4-1, and only need to hold onto the lead for 20 minutes. By the end of the game, the score is 5-4 because of a total breakdown.

If the rangers make the playoffs it won't last long... it won't be anything to exciting... I told my dad its probably better if they don't make the playoffs cause you'll save money (season subscriber) cause they will probably get knocked out on the first round badly... ;)

Yea I'm partial season ticket holder and I got the bill in the mail for playoff tickets. I was like as much as I want them, I can't afford them. If anything the Isles will go out first round.... again.

Anyways, my season is over. It'll take a miracle for the Isles to make the playoffs.

They're only four points back, and they've got a game in hand over all of the other contenders, so they're certainly not dead yet. Life support, yes. Dead, no.

The Sabres have all but locked up the East, but it would still be nice to get that Presidents' Trophy.

Clearly, you're not an Islanders fan. We're all about despair.

Anyways, defense is thin and plagued with injury. DP is gone. Dunham can't stop the puck to save his life. I could go on, but it hurts too much.

On that note I'll be at the Isles final home game of the season :D

Just finished watching the Sabres take out Pittsburgh, 4-1, to clinch the Eastern Conference crown (their first since 1980) and move to the front of the pack in the race for the Presidents' Trophy.

Things are still awfully muddled in the East though. Don's Islanders are deadlocked with the Rangers at the moment...they really need a win to stay in the hunt.

Congrats on the Conference Crown.

If the Isles lose, they're elminated.

EDIT: Even though they won in a SO, they've still been eliminated.

Guys you got it all wrong. Its all about Canadiens, they are going to come from behind to win the cup just like in '93.

Beating Bruins right now to clinch their spot.
