I HAVE THE RINGTONES PROBLEM FIXED!!

when you put on two different ringtones on the phone it just lists the forst ringtone multiple times. that is now fixed for me.

Or on the flipside, it is like you, a tortilla and salsa lover, choosing to go to the one mexican restaurant that you know doesn't serve tortilla chips and salsa.

But you still being upset about it despite it being your choice to go there. Especially considering all the neighbourhood places that can serve you up your favourite tasty snack.

Ok, now I've confused myself and am getting hungry!

Defintely should have thought my analogy out a little better.

Regardless, I guess only time can tell whether Apple is ahead of, or behind the times when it comes to MMS.

T-Mobile gets it in germany, but not in the US? not that i truly care, but that kinda sucks for all those sidekick users who think they are cool

Yep, Apple has an exclusive relationship with a different carrier in each country.

Next update 4th March ?

With iPhone plugged and synced to 1.1.4 iTunes displays next update 04/03/08 - Is the updater check every 60 days in the past ?

My ringtone problem is fixed too. i had different ring tones for different people, that used to get mixed up. i've taken about 15 calls today, and they are working perfectly fine.

Fixed and confirmed fixed.

I have two Nuvi 680s and three iPhones. No problem pairing them up any longer.
I confirm your confirmation. Sweet. I have a Nuvi 760. It also now sucks in the iPhone addressbook.

Would be nice if I could create an AddressBook group for the Nuvi. I don't really need all 3 numbers each for developer that used to work for me. Maybe I'll have to change how my MBP syncs addresses to my iPhone.

In Japan, people use e-mail on their phones to message eachother, and everyone's fine. If e-mail is implemented properly, there is no need for MMS.

160 mb...this is the SDK support for the iphone.

at 160mb this update cant just be fixes.. it must be support for the SDK they are releasing soon.

I wonder why they would release a whole new firmware update for obscure bug fixes that could probably wait until a later time. Is this really all this update introduces? Just seems odd.

What if they were a security risk and they didn't want to leave it exposed.

its the opposite for me, its listed at April 4, 2008, so 3/4/08. Maybe your format is changed?

EDIT: Eraserhead beat me to it :)

I did try a search, but couldn't find anything (and don't have time to go through 20 pages of comments), but i've just noticed the Manually manage music and videos button on the Summary page on iTunes. Now i've checked it, I can drag music to the iPhone directly, without having to add it to a bloody playlist first.

Is this new, or was this included on an old update? If it is old i'm gonna be mega angry! I've been wishing they'd stop that ridiculous playlist only functionality!

Google Search Bar

When you go to type an address, was there always a Google search bar under the address bar? If so, I just noticed it.

old news came with the iTunes 7.6 update.

Also old news

Safari Tabs now preserve content (don't go to "white" screens)
And that is massive. love it. I;m a tart I guess...

Or it just shows you did not read all 20 pages of comments - in specific the posts about all the updates being this size - each and every one has been 150mb+ (1.1.2, 1.1.3 etc) - it only means they replaced the whole Operating System like in all the other updates.

So Apple must be ready to intro the SDK in the next few days...

Or they are nowhere near having it ready and decided to roll with this version of an update and we will get a 1.1.5 update in a month or so...

1.1.3 was 162 MB
1.1.2 was 160 MB
1.1.4 is 165 MB

There's only 3 MB of new data...which would explain the Safari fixes, SMS, jailbreaking, etc.

Both iPhone and iPod Touch has the ability to install the SDK software. We saw that with the iPod Touch when people bought the January Update and installed 5 new applications...sure, they were ported from the iPhone, but nonetheless they were installed.
