How many people here lusting after the iPhone SDK are actual developers?

I really wanna know, cause it seems kind of silly to me for lay people to want something that they can't do anything with anyway.
the SDK isnt just for developers. Every consumer to ever use the device will be affected, since developers will use the SDK to make applications to fit every niche in the market, that apple just doesnt have the power to do. What if OS X was impossible to develop for. It would be nearly useless. Though nearly all the apps are apple made, but thats by the by.

its the files that jailbreaks have put on there in the past....

I want to know how to get my phone back to factory conditions

Not true, I've never jailbroken my phone or any of that funny business. But my Orange bit is about 102MB. Bizarrely the orange gets smaller if I add more photos, and my free space is always zero.

EDIT: Just finished my update, and the camera is a VAST improvement. Its even quite good in low light now, which is amazing considering there is no hardware change. Well done apple, keep the tuesday goodness coming!

Ever asked yourself just WHY there is no email-client on each and every phone? Maybe you people should start bugging Motorola Nokia and the other makers about implementing an actually USEFUL feature instead of forcing Apple to include utter rubbish into their beautiful device...
Maybe , just maybe. Because it requires more than just your average mom/dad/sister/grandmother to setup an email account. Especially when they don't want to be bothered with an expensive smartphone and all of it's features they will never use. MMS is point, click, send, view pictures of grandkids. DO YOU GET IT YET.

Dangit!!!!

After this update I tried controlling the toaster with my iPhone from another room and it didn't work. Must be b/c there is no flash. This update is worthless

all starbucks close and employees are trained, for what is supposed to be an historic event a.k.a now we with iphones now get to order 5 dollar coffees from our iphones
im thinking apple is going to make an announcement about the sdk then too
thats just me though

Rubbish?

Ever used a phone with native MMS? It's amazinggly simple and fun.

Motorola and Nokia make the most commonly purschased phones on the planet; and while e-mail is an often added feature, MMS is standard on most (if not all) of their phones.

I am still shocked that MMS hasn't been implamented on the iPhone, it seems right up Apple's "creative" alley.

There is toaster functionality, but it is limited to standard (i.e. with slots) toasters. Toaster Oven support is expected in a future release.

On a related note, Microwave controls, a long awaited addition, are not on the foreseeable horizon.

I just wasted an hour of my time cleaning up the insults, off-topic, and trolling.

Let's try and keep our eye on the prize here, ya?

If Apple want to target business smartphone users, how many of them use MMS? for business? come on... is like all this people who don't buy the MBA because there are not enough USB ports...

In Europe MMS have always been quite expensive! nobody uses it, I received one in all my life... SMS instead are reaching crazy levels, now you get 1000 SMS allowances a month!
I worked in a GSM operator, so we had "access" to it... but never bothered using MMS, also it is clumsy and difficult to se in 99% of the phone models, so why Apple should bother?

You have the extreme Apple lovers who refuse to ever hear anything negative about their products and just love to bait people with their cry-baby insults about turning in any apple product they don't like

You then have the extreme Apple complainers who could buy the best product ever made yet still whine and whine every day about how over-priced and annoying it is....completely ignoring the utter fantastic product they possess. They get around on here by wanting to find a way to bring down every thread with complaints

People, have a medium for crying out loud.

I complain about my iPhone at times but I also know when to just stop and accept some things without acting 15. We want Flash, iChat, and other things. Trust me, I think it is rather pathetic some features have not been added but you know what? Getting mad at those that disagree is not going to help anyone.

If someone cant set-up an email account then they shouldn't have an iPhone, serious.

Yeah, I have, and it sucks. Most of the time. And it's expensive. And I won't change my opinion that you can achieve the same grade of simplicity and ease of use and functionality through completely FREE email.

Thank you for tidying it up :).

FWIW One of my posts started on page 20, and is now in page 17, so there have been a few too many posts for the mods to remove.

because people use it and EXPECT IT!

All the people that have been on here talking about this iPhone ordering system are gonna feel kind of dumb if they are wrong. I'm not saying it isn't possible, I just think it is kind of weird that it would happen out of nowhere like this.

Hey guy's, Ive just updated to the new firmware. Something I haven't seen before is under carrier, there is now tmobile and orange.

because people in the United States use it and EXPECT IT!

I'm sure Apple will get MMS in the end. They only have a finite amount of time/people to work on the iPhone, and as found by IBM when they made OS/360 you can't just throw more people at a problem like this.

By having rich Email in Japan you don't need SMS or MMS AT ALL, and everything that comes with Email is set-up for you and did I mention that it's FREE?

Seriously, MMS is nothing but milking the cash-cow, and for one, I am totally thankful that Apple doesn't jump on THAT wagon.

I can see that a majority that has been fooled into thinking that they need MMS will not accept the lack there-of. And that's the saddest part of the story.

Anyway, whatever.

first time

So yeah, this is my first post! woot woot. I had my heart broken this morning too with the update that almost did nothing. It was even more broken with an iTunes update that i was sure was to secure the SDK. how much longer must we wait!!! PS. Who wants a 32 Gig iPhone? I do! I do!
