You can ask the mod to delete your post.
What works for me is to ask through the "Report" button, right next to the "Like" button.

@Dronecatcher should be able to give you some options on that hardware, but anything above 480p is out of the question.

    PPCAppStore is also on Tiger.

    Picture 1.png

It may work on Panther too, but I'm not so sure about that.

Where are you people getting all these quotes from? I don't see any comment of clamshell's that says he wants to use YouTube. Or with gamer saying that they're hidden.

    @clamshell_g3

If you have Tiger on it, I'd recommend you download TenFourFox, install the QuickTime Enabler, then watch YouTube that way.

Otherwise, I'd say you're just about out of luck. Tis tough being a PowerPC owner... But rewarding!

LONG LIVE THE POWERPC G5. (And G4.)

    (...Fine, G3 too...)

A lot of people use the edit tool to just remove the content of their post if they later decide that they don't want it anymore.

Some just change the content to say "deleted".

It's the PPCAppStore and it should work with your Mac if you're running 10.4 Tiger.

There's a link to it on the TenFourFox start page.

    Right here.

    https://sourceforge.net/projects/tenfourfox/files/addons/qte/qte-v120.xpi/download?use_mirror=cytranet&r=https://github.com/classilla/tenfourfox/wiki/QuickTimeEnabler&use_mirror=cytranet

    You need TenFourFox.

When QTE is installed, all you need to do is go to a YouTube video, right-click anywhere on the page, and there will be three options for opening the video in QuickTime. I recommend you choose the SD option, since you're running a G3.

PS: If you only have one mouse button, you can right-click by holding down control + left-click. You don't need to hold down the plus sign, that's just a symbol for "and".

PPS: Don't be fooled, it's not installing the actual browser. It's just a extension.

True, but there's a CPU threshold on the method you recommended, for me it just doesn't work on that level of hardware. TFF plus Quicktime is even a long haul on my 1.67 Powerbook.
My method has been tested on my 300Mhz iBook (as low as I could go)

    I know that.

    But it's still too complicated.

Maybe he could install uBlock to slightly lessen CPU load? That's what I use. Maybe he could have TFF as the only app running? Do you think the PowerBook G3 has the "Highest" setting on CPU performance? There are many ways to lessen the brunt of the browser, I think we need to make use of that.

It's always worth a try but I arrived at my method because all others (including the one you mentioned) simply don't work at all or are impossibly slow on inadequate hardware.
As I said, TFF and Quicktime Enabler are painful on high end G4s so what chance on G3? Never worked for me.

I had an 800mhz iMac G4, and TFF wasn't that bad.

If you ask me, I think most people keep cluttered and unrefined operating systems. That takes a hit on performance, you know.

You're right some people do but I'm not one of those - every Mac I have is optimised in every possible way, every unnecessary feature is stripped out and I regularly do clean OS installs because I'm a bit OCD about that. I only offer advice based on personal experience but as ever, not all Macs of equal model and specification behave the same - I have learned that.
